My father-in-law has a 94 iton shop truck.(Cummins) The thing will not get out of its own way. Its very very gutless. What can I do to it to get more power???

 

Auto or manual? Does it run as good as it should be for a stock truck? How much does it weigh or haul? A #10 fuel plate kit, intake, and exhaust would make it feel like a whole new truck if everything is as it should be, but depending on how many miles it has, it could have clogged prefilter or fuel filter, slipped timing, boost leaks, bad overflow valve, clogged cat., etc. that could affect how it's running. If your'e not sure, have someone drive it and check it out (fuel pressure, boost, etc.) and then go from there. Also, if he hasn't fixed the killer dowel pin, git-er-done

That will wake up your truck quick!! HOWEVER if you really wanna punch it out, get it timed at 16 degrees with those options, add a fuel plate and a really good clutch.. MAN!! WHAT A TRIP!! CTD nut will chime in later hes the guy to ask, interested in a 100 plate? PM northslope.. he does great work... But check all that bill says first.. hope this all helps..

My 1994 lost all of it's power and the cat was plugged along with the wastegate blown out. check those two then tighten all of the clamps that the boost runs through.
