4wd lockout switch?

Tried searching but not sure exactly what its called, but a switch so you can put into 4lo and not have the front hubs lock in for low speed 2wd manuevering, anyone know of such a thing? A buddy told me someone makes one but I cant seem to find it.

THanks

what the switch i think your talking about does not allow the actuator to lock the front end in so it allows you to have 2 low or 2 high basically.

You need a vacuum switch (valve). I'll do some searching, but there was one from a Honda sedan that worked perfect and is cheap to find. Might be better off with a cable actuator.

www.genosgarage.com is where I got mine. Set it up they way they say and the toggle will make the vacuum actuator flip the CAD vac supply backwards. When toggled and you shift into 4x high OR low it will keep your front axle disengaged. Shift back and it will make the CAD unit grind if you are rolling.

I say don't use them as a 2low device, but simply bypass the transfer case vac valve ENTIRELY and use the toggle to manually control the CAD unit. Now you can have shift on the fly up to highway speeds INSTANTLY in and out of 4x, 2wd low range with a simple shift of the shifter.

The only downside is that to shift from unlocked CAD to 4x4 you need to shift the shifter first THEN lock the CAD. But if the CAD is locked in, 4x shifts in SOOOO smooth and fast!

Just reading the parts list and installation instructions from PacBrake gives you enough info to build your own 2 wheel lo with simple parts for under $50.

Skip the Posi-lok- I have it- it's trash.
Stripped the cable within 2 months and the replacement cable is 95% of the kit. It's difficult to work the cable- engage or disengage, their instructions for install (cable routing) were wrong - had to wing it. too much resistance their way.
I'm doing a Ford hub swap to get locking hubs instead.
