47 RH billett

Okay, having a heck of a time finding a cryoed billet 47 RH output shaft. Everyone has the short ones for the RE but not the long ones that mount the governer for the RH. Anyone got any ideas? Want to change this fuse.....tired of breaking it. I'm going to treat the trans to full billet, but need this last piece to make it complete. DTT doesn't make one anymore, ATS doesn't either, and a few more of the big hitters couldn't help me either. Though this is the easiest shaft to change in th case of breakage, I'd rather not have to carry spare stock ones in the glovebox you know?

Thanks
Chris

Really? If they're that scarce, I need to rethink my plans for a 47RH in my next project. Who made the first billet shaft? The 47RE started in 1996, right?

I believe suncoast makes one but when I was searching for billet shafts I found out that the RH output shaft is much stronger than the RE, partially because of an extra bearing. The only person I found that broke one(stock shaft) was Chris Strickland "Strick-9" on the TDR. Seems he's hard on stuff. You could have one cryoed too.

I spoke with Shanti at DTT today and the RH shafts are only on backorder, not gone for good. Shanti looked at this thread and said "No, I have some on order , not going to be in for about 3 weeks though." Good news for everyone!

Right on....When I talked to stefan a week or two ago, he though the had one that was made special, but the customer was 2WD, and the shaft was 4WD. Bill had already sold it though. At that time he said it would take a run of a dozen or more before the machinist would make 'em. If they're gonna get some in, I have to make sure I'm on the list!!

Thanks for the info guys...........and joefarmer, I like my RH, and it doesn't rely on electronics to make it work. You can put switches on the OD and TC circuits.....don't need a PCM for that. Being a '99 though, what are you gonna do about your PCM....being a standard I assume it wouldn't have to be changed anyway right?

Different truck, different project. You may want to get in the line for a shaft though, Shanti says these are almost all spoken for.

You can put switches on the TC clutch and OD on an RE also. I'm running both on mine.
