4" exhaust? will I feel a difference

Be honest here please. I realize intake and exhaust are the basis for better breathing if needed and will greatly aid a bombed setup. But.... on a stocker will I feel and difference? Im not lookin for noise so that dont count.
Thanks.

Apache,
I put both my intake and exhaust on at the same time. For me there was a difference for sure. It felt so much smother and faster. It won't be a big difference, but you will notice it. My MPG went up too.

I had noticed my egt's running higher than normal so I bought a 4" MBRP system.
There was a big difference for me because my cat was plugged up.
Last week I straight piped it and it sounds awesome.

You should not expect any hp improvements by just changing to 4" exhaust.....the real gain is egt reduction when running fueling levels above stock. Power gains come from increased fueling levels.

As CTDnut stated on a stocker and up to 300 to 350hp the only difference is a lighter wallet. You will notice nothing on a stock fueling truck now change the fueling and you will notice some lower egt's but the stock exhaust will handle 300/350 with no problems if the plate is set up right. apache,

There are consistent HP gains of 8-12 HP with a well designed exhaust system, now that won't knock you in the back seat like a Edge Comp moduel will but most folks notice it after then install a system. If you add an intake it will also give it a little pep, especially the time it takes for the turbo to spool up, much faster.

If you plan any electronic or injector HP mods you need to consider exhaust and intake products. They allow the extra fuel to be burnt at a better rate, plus air is still free (until Uncle Sam figures a way around that) and the more air in a diesel the better. An engine is still nothing but an air pump, you add fuel to make it "POP", the more air that is available during the "POP" process the better the burn the more MPG and the higher HP while getting lower EGT's at the same time.

I didnt notice a diff when I went to 4" straight, but when I went to a diff intake it was night vs. day. I wont say it added much for power but seemed to run much smoother. Heck, I noticed the intake just starting the truck.

I doubt 8-12 hp can really be felt in a 7200 lb truck. I noticed the sound, not the power.

What do you have to sell me for a 12V that's guaranteed to do that?

I had chip on mine before putting on Banks 4" Monster Exhaust, and I did notice it ran smoother, power delivery seemed more responsive, and noise was MUCH LOUDER.

Before I replaced my exhaust it got to where I could only hit 26-27 psi of boost in 5th gear
when I used to top out at 32. Now it hits 32psi in a heartbeat. I looked at my cat and it was
pretty plugged up.
