3rd gen wheels on 2nd gen

My buddy has a 3rd gen with a set of 17x10 aftermarket wheels with 37x14.50's mounted on them. I'm debating 37's for my next set of tires but I want to see how they'd fit first before I drop a kidney paying for them. Can I just bolt his wheels straight up to my truck? Thanks yall.

I think

that if you can bolt on regular third gen rims on our second gen trucks, they why would an aftermarket be different? U already have the lift for it, so just try them on...

Yup, they will bolt on fine but the OEM 3rd gen caps won't clear your rear axle shaft bolts on the bearing hubs, if that matters at all.......

It don't really matter if the caps clear cause I'm just gonna throw them on and drive them around a bit to see if they rub and what not. I've gotten used to not having tires that rub and I don't want to sacrifice that ever again.

I'm lifted 4.5" and currently run a 315/75/16 with a 10" wide wheel and have no rub. The truck looks great but as with all things in Texas, bigger is always better.

This is only true with the chrome clad steel wheels. With the aluminum wheels the cap will fit on the rear wheels and clear the hub.

I bought some really nice factory polished aluminum rims on e-bay off a 2002 and tried them on my 98.5. No go, they hit the calipers on front. If I added bigger spacers the lug bolts would not be long enough. Advise, try before you buy. I guess I need to list these in the classified section.

What about getting studs about 3/4" longer? I did that on my last truck, I bought Centerline Hellcats, no workie with the factory studs. Went to Autozone, got some longer ones, all was well. Just a thought before you give up.
