3K spring install question??

I am going to purchase a 3K kit for my 94 CTD tonight. Will my #8 plate work well with a 3K and manual trans with South Bend Clutch?? My truck runs great now and would hate to have any negative side effects from the 3K setup...... Thanks....

Go with the 4K kit. Mine will only hit about 3400 RPM tops. The smaller pumps do not rev as high as the 215 pumps. There is a kit online that will give you the 4K springs without the valve springs if you want. No bucking issues on mine.

3K in....!!!!

Ok, installed the 3K today. The actuall install took 45 minutes. Getting the spring access cover back on took another 1.25 hours..... ***....!!!!!! Anyway, truck runs great. My idle was at the third mark on the tack from zero. 750 is what I am assuming the stock setting was. Now after the 3K it is just a little lower. Roughly the thickness of the tach's dial is how low it is from the stock ( third line ) setting. Truck runs great with no acceleration issues. I am planning on just leaving the idle where it is. Anyone see any problems with this??

Also I am going to bump up the injectors. How much HP can I go with the injectors with out having to change any other fuel system parts????

Thanks........

Dave

Rpm

So from what I have read about the 3K install....... If I am around 100 RPM's low I need one more click on both springs. But what benefit will one more click do?

Right now I can get 3200 out of my springs easy.... And my current idle is less than 100 low? I would say more like 50 RPMS low.... Any thoughts...?

And if I do go one more click on both springs how do you lower the idle??? I could not find anything in my Dodge manual on adjusting the idle...

Thanks.....

Hmm this is what i can tell you with my gsk expereince

you must remove the throttle linkage to get that dang cover back on! the springs are easy to install, yet that cover will drive you nuts! i know it did to me! If you current idle is too low, try tightening the springs just one click, much easier if done thru the top of the pump rather than the side again, If all is well just adjust the idle screw very minorly and you should be set.

If you experience your tach floating or not dropping to idle quick enough, you know you are too tight on your springs. I just posted on the help section for ya, hope it helps

Hmm with the smaller pump that he has

the 370s will snap crackle and pop if the injector pump is not timed. You might wanna try some 181's or laser cut valves first before the injectors. That in itself will wake up the truck very noticably..

50 RPM.....i would just raise the idle....you have to stand on your ear to find the adjustment screw.....but I would start there first since you are soooooo close. More clicks will get you a few more Redline RPMS though......but might make it race somewhat....like mentioned.....just a ballencing act........

Take the linkage out of the way to get access.....and hold the lever just in the right spot and the cover will go back on with no probs....but i feel ya....first one i did made the truck blush somewhat! haha......
