3K GSK vs. 4K GSK which one?

i plan on buying a gsk kit soon but which one? I'm wondering how often my truck will actually hit the 4k mark if i did go with the corresponding kit? how would it? wouldn't i have to be going in excess of 100mph w/no OD? i plan on doing a lot of towing this summer with a 15k trailer and i'd like to take it to the track a few times but not enough to go to crazy on the engine. i also read how there's a large variance between fuel cut off points on the 3k kit. some people say theirs cuts out at 2800,3200 or even 3600. The directions say to put the new spring in and make adjustments equal to the stock setting, well if you tightened or loosened the retaining nut wouldn't that change your fuel cut off slightly? is there a way to alter the fuel cut off mark by adjusting the governor arm without buying the kit?

Well if your pulling a 15 lb trailer.....youll want an exhuast brake....which means 60 lb valve springs.......so you mine as well go 4000. If your pulling a 15k lb trailer you might want to run it high in rpm every once in awhile to keep that weight going and egts lower, lets you down shift to 4th with out fuel cut....so you mine as well go with the 4000.....

and I am glad I did a 4000, I regularly shift between 3000-3400.....

mr hydroseed it all depends on the pump that u have...fill out ur sig so we know what truck u have...the 160pump id go staright to 4k gsks the 60 valve sporings are only needed if u plan on ripping very close to 4000rpm all the time...if u have a 215 pump then get a 3k u'll be happy enough

4000 all the way

Just because they are there don't mean you have to go up there.

And you said you wanted to go to the track.

Then you got them to play with.

I have a 215 pump and wouldn't have it any other way.

My truck works daily also and then plays at nite.

I wish I would have gone with the 4k on my 12v. I went with the 3k and it cut fuel about 2900 RPM on my 175 pump. Sometimes I wished I could let it go. Just to stretch them gears and beat the ricers even more! IMHO, the spring kit was one of the best mods I made on that truck. Good luck.
