It has been suggested that I install a 3K governor kit to allow the engine to exceed the 2700RPM defuelling cutoff.
How hard is it to install this kit? Special tools?

It's relatively easy to install. I would suggest using the side plug on the pump. What becomes a pain then is removing the fuel shut off solenoid, but with patience(sp) it will come.

You can remove the retainer nut on the springs with a screw driver, but I highly recommend grinding a notch in something like a screwdriver or small prybar(what I used) to fit the notches in the retainer nut and clear the stud for the gov. springs.

You will love this BOMB it was my first. Really helped me towing gooseneck's with 33" tires and 3.55 gears.
