I'm not saying its good just for smoke, the POWER is AWESOME too.. I'd think that the 370s would raise EGTs a lot more.

When I was bombing my '96 and asking Piers about putting in dv's, he told me not to get them, especially since I tow a lot. He said I would have a lot more smoke and egts would go up.

i don't know how dv's added power to your set up with 370's i could peg 50psi. the stock turbo only makes power to around 35psi. i could not feel any difference at all in power after i added dv's, this summer i dynoed 296hp and 831ft/lbs. i know with a bigger turbo i could reach 500hp very easily. yeah the dv's do add a little bit of smoke here i am on the dyno with my current mods

How does the haisley RPM kit compare to the TST 3 or 4K units? Same thing right? I have mine pushing 32-3300 just by adjusting the high rpm set screw!!

How did you get 3200 by adjusting the hi speed set screw? Is it full fuel to 2800-3200?

Iwould try this before I bought a 3gsk, or in the end would I be better off with the gsk??

thanks

I will be adding a picture to my gallery in a moment, it will show you the screw that I am talking about. With my truck I can run it right to about 3150 with what "feels" to be no defueling, it will run to about 3300, but I can feel the "lack of fuel" If you were only going to do the 3k kit, I personally would not bother IMO, but take that for what its worth. Once you see the picture go look at your pump, there will be a plastic "collar" so you cannot adjust this screw, break it off, loosen the lock nut and then by hand run the screw into the pump a bit, tighten the lock nut. Now go road test the truck, if you want more RPM's repeat and test again. I did mine twice before I got the RPM's I wanted.

At some point in time I am going to go with the 8 heavy spring, retainers and the 4,000 RPM kit. I just don't have the time or extra cash right now

It is easy to do and you will like the results!!

See the idle adjustment, then the "Throttle arm", then the "screw", that screw is the one that you "remove" the plastic or possibly metal cover and screw into the body. There is an arrow pointing to it, the arrow originates at the bottom of the page. This picture shows a factory seal and wire going through the screw that I am talking about!!
