300 injectors

Somewhere I read in a thread that Bosch 300 injectors were the same as 275's. Is this correct? I have a chance to buy some Bosch 300 P/N 0 432 193 635 and want to know if these would work.

I just bought the same injectors. They are the same part number as the RV275. I will be installing them tomorrow, can't wait.

i have them in mine (for about 6 months) , can't beleive the difference in pulling power. However, do keep an eye on your egt's as i melted number 5 and 6 piston in mine while towing thru Ar. just after i did mine .

Tell me about the melt down. What kind of load were you pulling? What speed? In overdrive? Were you pulling a grade?
Also, Do you get any smoke?

very little smoke. actually my son was driving it thru the New Mexico mountains on his way to Tucon with a 53" gooseneck trailer with 7 horse buggys on board. outside temps were at 105 degrees.
I had tri-pod gauges installed at my local cummins dealer and they installed the pyrometer post turbo so that the gauge inside the truck was actually giving us a reading 300 degrees below what we figure we were actually running. Also just before the trip we had the cooling system serviced at our local chrysler dealership and they refilled with pure antifreeze.
Chrysler stood up the plate and replaced the engine for us. So now i have an 01 with about 10,000 on the engine and a ATT tranny with about 50,000 on it. Hopeing for a style change before i need to trade.

SORRY ADD

we run at 65-70 mph and at the time he had been pulling in overdrive witch we determined by the egt's. becase with te ATT tranny power in overdrive was fine with no "gear searching"

Did the injectors help you Mileage? I noticed that once I installed the EZ and had the tranny work done, I hardly have to hit the peddle to get up to speed and maintaining speed. I've seen an improvement with just these add ons.

ACTUALLY, I HAVE ALWAYS BEEN DISSAPOINTED WITH THE MILEAGE after reading what people on this forum say they get. When i am on the road and talk to folks with these trucks at fuel stops most of them say they get 10-14 pulling loads and that is normally about where i am at.

This past summer towing my Horse trailer around running 20,000 lbs gross, I got between 9 and 10. That is running 65 to 67 mph with the O/D out. With the changes I have made this winter I sure hope I'll do better since I am planning on running in O/D with these mods.

Herb,

Do you run a "j" hook or turnbuckle on your wastegate to get the boost up?

Clint at ATT transmission shop installed some type of a spring to my wastegate that boosted my turbo from 18 to 28 but the bolt that he hooked it to on the rear of the turbo housing broke off and i have never reinstalled it.
I presently am back at the factory 18 lbs but have plenty of power as is so have not messed with it.
