275's without a box

Do yall think it would be worth it? I'm not worried about EGT's. What about boost? Should I get a boost fooler? I'm dying for power since I sold my comp and I need something to give me a little kick in the butt without stressing the tranny to bad. Thanks for the help yall.

I ran 275's alone for a couple months after running just an ez. They will be a kick in the butt but more like a size 2. You will notice an increase and it is nice but it is subtle. Not as much as just an ez. I then added the ez back in and I feel it is a very nice combo for my needs. I cant answer about 275's and a boost fooler as I didn't have one when just running the 275's but I would think it would help a little. I have run an ez for 80k except for a couple months when I just had the 275's then have run both for last 25k (total 95k on truck). My auto is still holding up fine but I don't race or do wot takeoffs. I guess you could say I drive with my trans in mind. If you are seriously considering a boost fooler you might look at an ez or ddttpm since I don't think they are much more than just a fooler.

When I go to do a box, it will be a TST PM3 Comp with the remote stacked with an EZ or something and a set of mach 5's or bigger. I'm just looking for a little extra kick in the butt. I'm tired of running even with the local PSD's. My tranny's already toasted, so I don't need much.

I bet if you got your tranny done those Fords would have a harder time hanging with you.

I know you don't need a boost fooler with 275's but I bet it and a boost elbow would help .........

cause I can pull 30lbs of boost with the comp turned off just running on the 275's

If your willing to pay for it, I'd be more than happy to get it done right now.

When I put in the DD2's, in order to save the stock clutch until the Con OFE came in, I towed with the EZ's data link cable unplugged - the MAP cables were still hooked up to let it function as a boost fooler. In this configuration, I could see around 30 PSIG max boost at 1100 degF pre-turbo EGT (with the EZ plugged in, it's more like 34 PSIG boost at 1225 degF). It towed fine, but with the EZ unplugged, the powerband's shape felt almost like that of the stock ETH - just moved higher across the board. Weak (relatively speaking) until 2100 RPM, then the ETH "kick".

If you're looking for the "kick in the rear", IMHO you'll feel the EZ's low and mid range "kick" more than you'll feel any difference with injectors. Oh, the difference is there - it's just more subtle.

I don't have, nor want to spend the money on the ez. I just want a nice, subtle kick in the butt. Nothing major. I had a comp for a while and then I sold it due to tranny reasons. But I need a little more power but I don't want to spend the money on an EZ. My tranny won't take that kind of power. I was thinking a set of 40hp injectors would be fine.

You gonna be disappointed with just 275's after having the COMP.

hey blue,,i run about the set up you were describing.with just my 275`s,my truck would throw overboost codes like crazy.you would need a boost fooler to keep that from happening.everybody says to stack with the tst comp, but if you try it,,youll probably be more than satisfied with it alone.with the 5`s,you better be looking into some serious turbo, with mine with the stock hy strapped, itll go 45lbs boost at 1600* quick,,and thats on level 6.that box is one serious fueler.good luck with it,,bama

It was in EZ mode. I had the wire pierced at one point and I towed a fourwheelr trailer with the comp on 4 one day. Needless to say, my tranny didn't like that to much. After running it in EZ mode for about a year, I got tired of babying the tranny and sold it (the money was needed as well ). And besides that, the TST is going to be better for me once I finally get the truck built.

Bama, when I do the TST and mach 5's, I'll be running a Bigbrother set of twins on a full built auto with a ported and polished head and cam with a race built VP44. Hopefully, I shouldn't have to worry to much about the EGT's.

I put in 80 hp injectors. No box. Truck ran better. kind of a "pat" on the butt. 30 lbs. boost threw over boost codes. So I put on a boost fooler. Big difference as a matter of fact I would call it a "little kick" in the buck. I added the hypertech PP3 to the combo and smoked the old clutch. The hypertech was $350.00 and adjustable 38-48-or 66 hp and also clears codes and you can firm up shifts on the auto as well as adjust your speedo for different tires. I figure the hypertech would also give you a little kick in the butt by itself.
JMHO:Buy the boost fooler with the injectors or for the same $$ get the hypertech.

Well, I've decided to go with the 275's and no box (for the time being). Now here's my next question. What will the injectors do to my injection pump? I've got plenty of fuel pressure at all points so that's not the problem. Thanks for the help yall.
