24V intercooler in a 98 12v truck?

Im going to have a 1998 12 valve 215hp and a 2002 ETH sitting in my driveway and i m currious i have heard the 24vs used a 15% larger intercooler will it fit the 12v support is there anything to gain is the added efficiency worth the headache stock really isnt that efficient anyways so a performance model is probably in line down the road.

Parking brake light is stuck on on the 12v i'll have to chase that headache oh and i probably will swap dashes to geth the Airbag switch into the smaller hole or eliminate it all together. swapping seats out of the 2002 also for power seats. and maybe the 6spd for the 5spd. disk brake rear axle too. could be dangerous having them both there fopr the next 6 months too bad i babied the 2002 now i gotta start all over again but im back to a 12v.

I don't know much about the stock intercooler. Most OE intercoolers are not very efficient. If it were me I would go for a big aftermarket one.

I don't know of anyone who makes a complete kit. I have made intercoolers for other vehicles. I design the intercooler tanks and piping and get a core and weld it up.

I don't know what your skill level is. If you can design one you can get a core and have a welder make you one. Or if you can weld Alu. you can make one yourself.

I get my cores from Griffin Rad. They will also weld up the tanks for you. Bell Intercoolers will also do it.

Cool Twist, Piers, and Enterprise Engine all make performance ICs four our trucks. I think they are all around $900, the cool twist may be less.

IMHO Swapping the 24v cooler for a 12v cooler is a worth while swap in your situation seeing how you will not have any money invested, just a little time.

The 24v cooler does cool slightly better. I know of one person who did back to back dyno runs on his overfueld truck and he picked up 10HP just by swapping ICs.

At no cost I would do the swap but I would not out and buy a 24v IC to complete the swap. For the money spent on a 24v cooler a performance IC would be a much better investment.
