2" coils up front

I am going to toss some skyjacker coils up front. I've read a lot about replacing the trac bar and the steering stabilizer setup from thuren I think. Are these components necessary when lifting. Also would it be better to replace the upper and lower links? Planning on running 315 bfg mud-terrains. Any mileage number out of these tires? Thanks for any info guys.

Didn't replace any of that when I put my SJ's in and I don't have any issues. I put shocks with a 2" longer stroke than the stockers in. I'm not running 315's though, 285's.

You can get some way nicer coils from Coil Spring Specialties for about $20 more than the SJ coils, IIRC CORed paid about $185 plus shipping.

With 2", you don't need to do anything to the front suspension......but you will want shocks.

I swapped ona set of D25s , Just put on longer shocks. Even without an adjustable trac bar, the front end shop told me that i was only 1/4" to 3/8" out of perfect center. Ill deal with that versus a drop arm and a new track bar. PLus with plowing every year, i end up aligning twice anually anyways

I still run stock (stock from the factory) shocks with my 2" blocks in front.. Do you think I should upgrade to a different shock or just replace with what is reccomended for the stock truck?

Bilsteins all the way around....it'll ride better. I doubt you'll tear up the factory shocks unless you beat on it, but the OEM's aren't very good anyhow. $300 will get you a set of 5100's.

Do a search on Bilstein, the part #'s have been posted several times. You'll want 2" longer than stock for the front, stock length for the rear.

Well, other than an alignment. Lifting the front slightly will cause more toe-in which wil scrub the tread off the outside of your tires in no time.

Don't ask how I know.

Oh, and I also agree on the CSS springs. I have the Skyjackers and they are CRAP compared to a CSS spring. See my gallery for pics of why te D25 SJ springs suck.. Note the wide gaps between coils.

On my front end, I've done the Sj springs, DT track bar, and longer Bilstein 5100 shocks that are valved a hair stiffer for the 8800 gvwr package. The work well up front, but don't have anywhere NEAR enough rebound damping in the back when empty. They work well with a load.

EDIT: I think my 5100s were only about $60 each from off road warehouse. They had a "levelling kit" special at the time-- sj springs and b-stein shocks

How do you know?

Sorry, just had to ask. What I did was use this fact to my advantage. I let it eat the edges off the factory tires so I'd have to buy new 315s... Safety issue and all that. SWMBO is susceptible to the safety issue argument, fortunately. So this year, 2" of snow won't have me turning the air blue when my 4WD, limited-slip-equipped truck can't climb my driveway.
