Ok, can a Mack Rack Plug be installed with the pump mounted?

Thanks,

I believe that it is not a good idea to put a mack plug in a 215 pump. I think that happens is that you over-rotate the spill ports that fill the plungers and actually get less fuel.

If I am mistaken I am sure someone will correct me.

I for one particularly appreciate this because I got into this when the 24V aftermarket was already established, and I honestly learned VERY little about the finer points of modding a 12V. My 12V knowledge would fit in a thimble washed in hot water.

As a lot of us consider a project truck or a cheaper 12V as a beater, it's nice to have info like this.

The LPC is shortened with increased rack travel which in turn retards the timing. This is only common with emission plungers, the dual helix performs well on the street but not in a competition format.

many thanks for sharing... my 97 w/auto could use the same treatment. 400hp would be the limit I'd want to try..

what's so great about this thread is dyno tells with no guess work.
this tell me pretty darn close what to expect if I should do the same.

finally bumped my timing to 16.5 today. interested to see if your 18.5 still give reliable service without blowing a head gasket.

sure like to get a triple disc TC in mine. that's got to be done before engine mods.

so does that mean id be able to run more timing without messing something up or would it not be a good thing if i drag race this truck as well as daily driving whats a good timing i should run even without the rack plug? really would like yalls estimate on the power to the ground my truck has thanks

I use 15° for street use and 18° for mixed on the 215hp pump, more timing will effect the cyclinder pressure enough to cause headgasket failure.

some of us consider a 9712valve the ultimate CTD!

just test drove a newer CR... CTD... yup... interior was MUCH nicer.
but came away thinking I'd be going backwards going to a CR cummins

ok... flame away...

what did the 96 ctd roll out of the factory with at the wheels imo i should be setting a little higher than 300 i was of the opinion it was closer to 350-375 especially with a 5spd just curious if i went to dyno right now and it was 300 or less i would be severialy disapointed

370s is by no means my first choice in injectors i really want the ddp 140s but not really interested in buying a turbo right now so my thought is 370s cheap power and the smoke dont bother me it might bother the people behind me but this is a small town so they are used to seeing it from me anyway lol
