01 Edge comp

I just installed the Edge Comp with the wire tapped. I have been playing with it for a couple of days and I was wondering should I be able to smoke the tires of the *** end of this thing in stage 5? Can't.... My truck is a 01 CTD auto 4x4 3:54 gears 295/75/16's 4" straight pipe, and approx 2000lbs of crap in the rear. Any ideas??

I have the exact same setup except I have RV275 injectors with the comp box and the only way I can turn the tires over is to powerbrake it or mash on it as I am making a turn from a stop sign or something like that.

i have only a straight pipe with 4:10s, and i can powerbrake the rears down to dust in no time. if i mash it for a dead stop with no brake it will spin the rears once the turbo gets spooled, around 5-10 mph. no boxes anywhere that i can find on the truck. i did buy it used recently.

if you have a tight converter there is now way you are gonna spin your tires from a dead stop with out getting some turbo pressure built up by power breaking first. If your converter was super loose you could...I used to be able to with my EZ because my converter was trashed and it would let the engine spin up so fast...I put in my new tranny and nothing but smoke when I mash it..so then i put in the comp...same thing, just more smoke

yeah, i have come to the conclusion that my trans is prolly i stock rebuilt. i went to gorends site and my tc acts more like factory type ones vs his good ones. i cant spin tires until turbo spools up, usually around 5-10mph after mashin it from a dead stop.

well your converter sounds not to be a stocker....the stock converters usually let the engine jump up to 2k rpm and stay there as the tranny plays "catch up" not sure how your rpm drops and lock up drops are, but that could be your vb programming as much as the converter. Try a vb or good shift kit to get your pressures up and see how it reacts then

the VB you buy are the same as your stock VB with that particular companies shift kit and reprogramming mods done to it. With a shift kit you have to do the drilling and parts changes yourself...so yes it is a good choice to save a few bucks. CHeck out the SK or the kit ATS makes. I personally tried the transgo and did not like it ( could not get shift points I was happy with)so I went with the goerend VB because I had already modified my stock one and didnt want to fool around with mismatching kit parts and ideas.

2,000 lbs in the rear is a good reason why. those tires are mashed to the ground pretty well.
