wood pellet furnace

does anybody use one of these to heat their home? i'm looking into different ways to heat my house this winter since the only way i'll be able to afford oil is if i sell my organs on the black market anyways i'm curious as to how you like them and how much i'd be saving if i went this route. thanks

I have a Quadrafire 1100i I "used" to use but pellet cost tripled in the last few years so I'm cheaper with Gas I could buy a bag for less than $2 and now they are $5 plus.

Good luck but it seems if anyone realizes they can save a buck the manufactures bump the price to make a $$$

We have 2 stoves 1 in Michigan and 1 in northwest Arkansas. The one in Mich. cut our fuel oil from 550-600 gal. a year to less than 100. We used
4-41/2 tons of pellets a year. Last year in Arkansas we used 21/2 tons at
$155.00 a ton, and our gas furnace never came on the whole winter. Hope this helps we love both of ours.

you dead right about that!!! i need to move someplace warm so that i don't have to worry about heating the house in the winter. I honestly don't know how some people are going to afford it this winter. it's a crying shame.

Around here, the people who got pellet stoves also wished they hadnt after the price went up. However, I dont know how it pencils out now with the price of oil up so high. Could be they are the ones laughing again.
