I had to be back in Wayland by 4PM... to pick up a generator a friend gave me! If I had known you still needed one, I would have given it to you instead of giving it to Mark. It isn't a huge one, 5000 watt, but it's also a 200 amp welder.

Are you gonna be involved with the cutting up north, or were you just consulting?

No, Mark has a forester he wasn't so sure of after he met mine and has seen what I do down here with my woodlot. He just wanted me along to confirm the forester isn't a shiester. He isn't. He's 'different', but has Mark's interests at heart. It'll be a decent cut tho, I WISH I was involved in it! About 50 grand of veneer maple will be harvested.

Mornin.

I had a 5000 genny that I just sold, I've had it for years, and never used it, just cranked it up once a month and changed the oil once a year. Dang thing was in perfect shape, I ran it dry (turned the fuel supply off and let it run out) so that the carb stayed in good shape.

Good one!

Hope everyone is doing ok today. I almost shot the walls up this morning... I was asleep in bed this morning, having a dream about work or something, I was pretty worked up in the dream or something. Anyhow... the alarm on my watch started going off (don't normally use the watch for an alarm) and I tried to start running in my sleep, I flipped out! I was trying to beat it out of the bed and started going for the pistol... good thing I came to my senses...

It was kind of like the vid of the dog running in his sleep, then waking up and running into the wall.

Ok, enough story time. See ya'll this afternoon.

Yee Haw ... sounds like fun. Of course I'm not the one out there working in it. Hang on and be safe.

Lazy Sunday ... got some things to do though. Hope y'all in the cold country are staying close to the fireplace or shop heater.

Cheers,

My concrete contactor says I must be building my garage on an Indian Burial Ground......

32X40 floor slab formed up on Friday a week ago.
Poured on Tuesday.... concrete guys got lost, took them over a hour to find the house.
'Crete started setting up as soon as it was dumped......started snowing, 'crete guy worked until 8:30 that night trying to 'save' the pour.
Slab looks like CRAP, 'crete guy said "No way I'd leave this with my name on this job, I'm jacking it out and repouring it." (That's why HE's my 'crete guy)
Track loader delivered to site with a power pick, ran for about an hour yesterday before one of the lift cylinders on the RC50 blew a seal.
Waited 2 hours for the rental company to deliver a larger Case backhoe, power pick had to be modified to fit.
Got it fired up, worked for 10 minutes, then the power pick started puking oil at the disconnect coupling.
Rental guy didn't have, and couldn't find a spare within a hour's drive.
'Crete guy gave up and went home.
I don't blame him.
Said He'd be back Monday with a new coupler and a Priest.

When ya hitting the shore?

Early afternoon DTR

Knocking out a little paperwork in the office. Its starting to wind down. Getting ready to head home on the 15th for vacation.

Pulling a new lil tractor home. Dad scooped it from a friend of his that just got divorced and wanted to be rid of it. 2009 Model 33 HP Massey Furgeson 4x4, with a 5ft bushhog and a 5ft box blade. 149hrs on it. Gave 10k. Not a bad deal.

Morning all.
Sitting here drinking coffee and looking out the window at the battle field.
The wife put out bird seed and it has turned into a war zone. Bigger bird picking on littler bird. Littler birds ganging up on bigger birds. Squirrels and cats mugging birds. Moose looking for their hand outs. And then there are the mice working the fringes.

Man, that ain't bad.

I have a buddy of mine that just moved to La... he's in the Shreveport area... anywhere close to you? I'm gonna meet him when I come back across the country, he said something about some oysters... I'm in. We'll have to try to hook it up, it'll be in early to mid February...
