Why Kerry may win.

If this info is for real, then Kerry just could win.
If YOU don't like it, what are YOU going to do to stop this happening? Have YOU considered starting your own groundswell movement to stop Kerry, or are YOU waiting for the next guy to do something.
Look, Bush may not be the best president in the eyes of some of you. Kerry as president in all probability will be a disaster and sell America to various enemies. In reality, what other choices do you have in this election for president? Better the devil you know than the devil you don't?
Sorry guys and gals, but I have to say this one more time. Never before in history has America faced such danger. The enemy is within and for years has been getting ready to eat you up. The houses you have built on sand are about to crumble. The enemy is poised to strike. What are YOU going to do about it? What are YOU doing to take America back?

Former FBI Agent Warns Swift Boat Vets
Gary Aldrich

August 10, 2004

In 1996, I took the ride of my life, but I have no regrets about exposing Bill Clinton for the louse that he is. Blowing the whistle on a powerful politician was different from any activity I had ever undertaken, and I arrested people and dodged bullets for a living!

I thought I had seen it all, but I was wrong.

When I began my quest to surface the truth, I was an honest, independent, a-political FBI agent. But, when the establishment was finished with me, I was “aligned with the Dole campaign, Big Tobacco, shadowy right-wing financiers of various anti-Clinton cabals and conspiracies, and a friend of the NRA!” The “Left” attacked me while the “Right” ran and hid in the tall grass.

The truth did not matter – I was whatever the news media said I was. I’ve labored long and hard to regain my reputation and credibility, and to some degree I have succeeded. But for a lot of Americans, all they will ever remember about my attempt to tell the truth is that the president’s top advisor, George Stephanopoulos, called me a pathological liar.

So, my warning to the Swift Boat Vets is this: When you take on the establishment, be prepared to suffer serious assaults to your reputation, at least in the short run. Over time, you will be proven to be honest, as well as brave. Eventually, your reputations will be mostly restored, but nothing will ever be the same for you again. The mainstream media will work diligently to alter the population’s perception of you in ways that you could not possibly imagine.

They will demonize, and then marginalize you so that your impact on this coming election will be minimal.

Many have come before you and have suffered the same fate. When you become whistle-blowers and take on the establishment, you’ll find few friends within the establishment, right or left, to support you. The establishment does not want the truth; therefore, your real support will come from the grass roots.

You have already had some hint of this from the recent White House response to your Television ad. They said they didn’t like it. Your effective and moving testimony as Swift Boat veterans who really did know John Kerry blew his war-hero cover to bits.

If your 60-second ad were given honest exposure, the election would be all but over, and the people who have seen it know this. That’s why they will destroy you, then ignore you.

The establishment can’t stand people like you. Especially not now, not after the candidates have gone through the primary process and are coming down to the wire. There is much campaigning to come, and so much money to be spent. You just cannot have a circumstance where the people are given honest information that would alter the course of an election. It’s just not done, you see?

Besides, the mainstream media does not like George Bush, and they will do nothing to help him win re-election. Did you think for a minute that they would rush to cover your press conferences and report the news that the majority of Veterans cannot stand John Kerry? Did you actually believe you would be invited on “Sixty Minutes”? Even now, reporters are out looking for your dirty laundry and trying to poke holes in your stories. After they find out that your stories match, have the ring of truth, and that you’re decent folk just trying to do what’s right, they will simply close their notebooks and quietly walk away.

And don’t expect to speak at the GOP convention in New York City or sit in the president’s box, like Michael Moore did at the Democrats’ convention. The GOP establishment doesn’t like the ad – it makes them very nervous. For example, it upset Senator John McCain, who rushed to defend his senatorial pal when he heard about it.

Of course, Senator McCain wishes all grass-roots types and ordinary folk would just go away. He has been instrumental in silencing a lot of Americans with his campaign finance legislation. Senator McCain is part of the establishment now, and the establishment does not care for boat rockers.

You have served our country well, and your exploits were heroic. You received real wounds, some of you, and you earned honest to goodness Purple Hearts and other medals which you wear proudly. You faced death and you took life in a war, and then you came home to a nation that has failed to honor you properly. You have never forgotten that this dishonest man, John Kerry, and his friends in the mainstream media caused the scorn you experienced.

But you didn’t let that get you down. You blended back into society in various ways. You have become successes in the private sector, where you have labored for decades, minding your own business and mostly letting others chase the windmills of political protest.

But like whistle-blowers before you, you came to believe that you were in possession of significant information that the American people needed to know before an important election and as a nation. You stood up for the truth, and we owe you a debt of gratitude – again!

We are a nation that was attacked, and now we are at war. We’re trying to protect ourselves against future attacks, and because of what you know – first hand – you believe with all your hearts that Senator Kerry should not become commander in chief. At least, not right now – not at this time.

I believe Kerry will lose in a landslide, just like George McGovern in 1972. I believe the reason he will lose is, in part, because you had the courage to step forward and tell the American people the truth. The people will get the truth – they always do.

You will take hits and wounds of a different kind this time, but your solace may be found printed on a sign that once sat on the desk of a great president, Ronald Reagan. It read, “Great things can be accomplished as long as you don’t care about who gets the credit.”

Did you know Patrick Henry stayed away from the constitutional convention due to his religious beliefs, he wanted more of a theocracy.

So he goes on a bashes not only Kerry, but McCain too?

Wow, is this a diesel site or a place for folks to post thier right wing views?
Really, what a load of garbage- hey Mexistan- if you really want to debate your views, and are not just interested in hearing "amens" from the like minded, and don't mind having posts like this torn apart like the drivel they are-

I challenge you to go to www.americasdebate.com and try to make some factual statements of your beliefs.

George Bush may be too much of a Republicrat/Demican for me, but I have a brother serving this country and I'll be damned if I'll stand by and not fight for the defeat of John Kerry. The United States is a sovereign nation, and Kerry would have us beholden to the U.N. That is absolutely the wrong thing for this great nation.

If all Kerry could get was 12 fellow veterans to stand for him while in excess of 200 stand against him then he is not what we need right now.

Neither is George Bush.

But really.......why do we have to have this argument over and over again? This has been discussed many times over with the same outcome. Some are for Bush and some are for Kerry. No one is going to change their mind.

Why don't we just talk about diesels??? Please!

Britt

Agreed. When it gets to the point where paranoia assaults the reputation of someone like John McCain, it's time to take a deep breath and start talking about diesels again.

Will say this though: About 35 years ago my team was transported upriver a dozen times by the 11th. Some of those so-called Swift Boat boys speaking out right now were real jokers. Kerry, on the other hand, knew how to keep quiet and behave. I saw no evidence of the 12/200 split in conditions of combat.

Kerry's military record has been hyped by Democrats in an election year. The Swift Boat jokers and their stories are counter-hypes by the Republicans. Propaganda exists on both sides, and too many Americans fall for it. The truth is, John Kerry was a reasonably competent soldier who apparently served his country well, and then later opposed his government's war policies in a controversial decision that has made a lot of people very angry.

And no, I'm not voting for Kerry this year. But it's because of his political views, not because of his combat record or personal character.

I think political views should be the deciding factor.

CrusingRam and all others who don't like what I say on this site.
Let me say first, that IMHO that if you don't like to read about politics or religion or non diesel related stuff on this diesel site, then it is simple. Don't even open that thread.
The owners of DTR have given the members the "other" site for all things not directly related to their trucks and to diesel stuff. That is one of the appealing features of DTR and I suspect one of the major reasons why within DTR there has become a type of 'family'. If politics or religion offends some, perhaps the appeal for personal help will offend others. And then we have the trivia and the jokes. So if we can't talk about politics, what next do you want banned? No one site can possible suit everybody. So again, if something is posted by me or someone else that offends someone, sorry, too bad, but hey, that is life. Don't read it. Isn't the diversity of the folks here one of the reasons this site has grown so fast?

Could it be that the large amount of 'discussion' on this site re Bush and Kelly is because some folks have woken up to the great danger that America is facing. Some have called this site a right wing site. Maybe it is, but from where I am sitting I see that the right wingers are actually doing some serious thinking and even taking some action to try and save America from it's slide to hell. So if I follow that line of thinking, does that mean that the left wingers are sitting on their fat duffs and talking a lot of meaningless hot air? Does it mean that the left wingers are the ones assisting America's slide to hell? I don't know. You decide.

BTW, I have never heard of that debating site but have bookmarked it and will take a look when I have some time.

To repeat: there is no way that everyone can agree with everything or everyone on this site, so, let's agree to disagree agreeably.

Stan when I was 15 or 16, I had a buddy whose stepfather was a prominent jeweler in town. He had our flag in the window of the store, and lots of free patriotic literature in a rack at the front of the store. I always thought it odd because when the store was open, he carried a holstered 38 on his belt, something you don't see in suburban Philadelphia. I never thought much about it, until one day it was revealed that he had just personally donated vests and new firearms to all of the police officers on the town's force. I mentioned to him what a nice gesture it was for him to do that, and left it. A few days later he pulled me and his stepson aside and asked us if we'd like to go to a meeting with him in the evening. It was there that I was introduced to the right wing John Birch Society. Two meetings were enough to scare the livin' hell out of me so much so that I never went back in the store, and eventually drifted away from my friend to escape from being coerced into goin again. They were preaching the same prediction of doom 40 years ago as you do now, and I was wondering if you are familiar with this organization, or maybe happen to be a member of it?

No, I am not a member of the John Birch Society. I have heard of it tho. Not sure if I should be insulted or complimented with your question.

As for preaching a message of doom, well, yes, perhaps I am. However times have changed a lot and so has the enemy. If you Americans can't see what has reared it's ugly head in the past few years and is ready to bite you, then all I can say, God help you. I really pity those of you who can't see what is staring you in the face.

I got curious and did a quick search about the JBS and this is what I found:
Founded in 1958, The John Birch Society is a membership-based organization dedicated to restoring and preserving freedom under the United States Constitution. Members come from all walks of life and are active throughout the 50 states as part of local chapters.

United by a sense of duty and a strong belief in personal freedom and limited government, members of The John Birch Society have educated millions of Americans on the proper role of government. By using educational and publicity tools, members have played a pivotal role in halting dangerous legislation and federal policies which threaten America’s independence.

We invite all Americans to explore our website, learn more about The John Birch Society, and consider joining with us in our mission to achieve: "Less Government, More Responsibility, and – With God’s Help – a Better World."

The real message of doom is from Kerry and the soco-demo party. We have a historically low unemployement rate of 5.6% and and steady improving economy yet all we hear about is doom doom doom and how bad things are. Come on, this doom message is old, tired and untrue and we just don't want a doomsday guy like Kerry running the country.

Besides his message of how bad things are, what things of substance is Kerry going to do to improve anything? Raise taxes, that makes me feel good. , doesn't know how he's going to defend the country, maybe it's to let Europe or the UN do it for us We may get another Hillary medical plan yet he won't do a thing to lower medical litigation costs. Doom, do do doom.

Hey People! Stop throwing out the insults and name calling as to who these people vote for!

Having the right to vote for who you want, is what makes this nation so great in the first place. You can make your point in these threads with out calling someone an idiot, just because they don't happen to agree with you.

We are after all, still neighbors and friends

Actually Mike, the unemployment rate has been much lower in recent years. Under the Clinton administration, in 2000, it hit a low of 4%, but has been rising steadily under the Bush administration to 6% for the year 2003. The last time it was lower than that was in the late 60's under the Johnson administration(Another Democrat ) when it bottomed out at 3.5%. A bump in taxes is exactly what we need right now, and I hope it happens. The national deficit is something that has reached historic levels.

Historically, unemployment numbers in the 5% range are pretty average. The 4% range under Clinton was an "exception", but it was excellent. I will admit, that after a tough first two years getting his ears wet, and a Rep congress, Clinton was a good president for the economy. I know a lot of people disliked him for the personal things that he did, but economically he was a moderate and good pres.

But that doesn't change much. 5-6% is still a reasonable unemployement rate, and I'm sure everyone would like to see it down to 4 again. But to put things in perspecive, when Carter was president, unemployment was "double digit", up to 12 %. Now that is bad and that is pain. Of course, the old saying when your neighbor is out of work it's a rescession, and when you're out of work it's a depression holds true.

but putting this economy in doom and gloom terms is wrong, saying it's the worst bla blaa.... is historically inacurate. The truth is it's Ok and it's getting better. And what is Kerry going to do to make it get better? No-one knows?

The deficit is high, but big deal for now. If Kerry or Gore were pres now, we would still have had 9-11 and probably some significant military action that would have also led to large deficits. So whats the agruement here? It's forecast to drop signif. over the next few years.

I'm not going to try to change anyone's mind, but I only want to point out the inaccuracy of saying how bad things are. It is plain not true (unless you're out of work). But that's doesn't mean it's bad for the rest of the country.
