whats it worth?

I was wondering, we have a old steam powerd combine from my uncles farm. I have had a few offer $$$ for it-the highest bid was 3k. I dont want to sell it as its real cool!!! I just wonderd what it may be worth. The 1 in the pic is real close-but 1/2 the size. It is rusty, but it works, and its LOUD!!!

Bio, if you can wait until Labor Day, either drag it to the threshermans reunion in Pontiac, or at least attend with some good quality pictures.

Them boys will know for sure.

That's ironic..My uncles farm was just outside of pontiac-in emmington. I would have to just bring pics as the unit is huge-when we had it transported we had to get wide load permits, disassemble part of it, and a bunch of other stuff. I would love to show them though! Its a real sight to see when its running.

Make sure you bring plenty of picture then. Actually they run demonstrations using steam threshers, so it would also give you an idea of what does what, and the incredible amount of work that went into threshing ( and any other farm related activity ) back in the day.

I never miss going to that show!

They have a threshing show every fall here as part of the town fall festival. It's about a mile from the house. We used to go every year. Grandpa used to like to take us kids and show us how we used to do it on our farms. Pretty amazing and a lot of work. Haven't been to it since he passed in 87' and we don't farm anymore either.
