What do you call it?

Well, is it soda, coke or pop?

Like a good Texan, it's all coke, unless it's Dr Pepper!

Well, Herrin and I were having fun earlier, but those threads disapeared...

The thread was a continuation of a conversation my wife an I were having earlier... She says soda, I say Coke.

I am starting to think I will never see my truck again. But the thought of having a 12v is growing on me

Around these parts it's pop, or at least used to be when I was growing up.

With folks immigrating from parts elsewhere, it's changing to soda.

This is hillarious to me.

When I was 14, I stayed at my brother's girlfriend's house in Fort Worth. He went to college in Long View, so I got to see Texas for 2 weeks in the Summer (yes, Summer,..........it got down to 86* ONE night)

Anyway, I was very confused by this situation. You could ask for a "Coke" and end up getting one of many SODAS!??

The midwest is good for "Pop", I was in Detroit for a few months (in the winter). Between that and every other person smoking a cigarette in resturants while I was trying to eat my breakfast, well........ eh.

Up this way, Coke is a variety of "soda" (not pop). IOW, if you ask for a Coke, that's what you're gonna get.

Out here, everyone calls it pop, but where I grew up in New England it was called tonic. Personally, I call it soda, because that's what it IS! 'Pop' is your father and 'tonic' is something you put in your hair.

It's all coke...whether it be Coke, Dr Pepper, Sunkist, Sprite, Pepsi or whatever...it's all coke.

"You wanna coke or something?"
"Yeah, what do you have?"
"Dr Pepper, tea, milk, water, orange juice....take your pick."

This wasn't an option in the poll, but I've heard lots of folks refer to cokes as "soft drinks" as well.
