What do I want?

Im considering a new rifle (next year sometime)
There are a few specifics Im looking for.
1. Box magazine
2. Bolt action
3. Adjustable trigger prefered.

I currently have a Savage 110 without the accutrigger and with a blind magazine chambered in 7mm Rem Mag.

right now, Im torn between a 22-250 and a .243.

.223 is off the list since I already have an m4gery.

As with all my firearms, Im looking for something in synthetic. All I know is I want something that will work for varmint to Oklahoma whitetail and something that is a bit easier on the shoulder and wallet than the 7mm Rem Mag.

I have a 243 and 300 Weatherby . that about covers everything. I use the 243 for hunting in Texas ,have caught a lot of lip from friends and other hunters about the light rifle ,but always went home with something .Had a 7MM but I kept shooting through the target . The bullet spreads quickly on the 243 and everything I have shot always falls where I hit it. Most the folks I hunt with use 270's but have had a couple of converts to the 243.

.308 is a decent choice, good for shots up to 600 yards. Plus can shoot surplus ammo if you so wished. Cant go wrong with a Remington 700 or a Savage, but if your looking to step it up a bit can start here - http://www.gaprecision.net/

Can be shot further but would wanna jump up to a larger caliber to be touching 1k with decent accuracy aka .300 win mag, 338 lupa, 50bmg etc (yes im sure there are guys that can shoot a clay bird at 1000 yards all day with a .308, im just talkin in general)

I'd say .243 if your definitely going to be hunting deer.

I love my .270 shooting 140gr. Nosler accubonds from Federal...

thats just it, the 7mm Rem Mag is what I use for deer now. I would like something a bit smaller and less than $30/box of 20 in ammo.
