Well, if you want resale value, why not get something that is appreciating in value?

If you can afford a $90,000 dollar Mercedes on top of your new house, new daughter, 5 year anniversary presents and your truck, I don't think you should be worried about gas prices... (I'm envious... )

If I had $90,000 to blow, I'd buy me up a stable of these suckers...

1974 401 AMC Javelin AMX

1969 390 AMC AMX

1970 360 AMC AMX

1969 343 AMC AMX

1968 3XX AMC AMX

So that would be a good investment, a permanent hobby, something that would look really good sitting in that new garage you'd build to house the babies, and you'd have one for each day of the week.

Or you could give your wife a couple...

I still want a Viper, but the Benz is a close second. What a machine.

Of course, the new 'Vette Z06, at less money than that Viper, looks like it might dethrone the Viper. I like both 'Vettes and Vipers, but being a Dodge guy, well, you know....

I guess I should have made myself a little clearer. I can in no way afford this car. It would be the car that I would buy if I could afford it. We stopped by the other day on the firetruck (still surprised they let us on the lot) and looked at them. I fell in love with it. I just thought it was one of the best looking cars I have seen in a while so I thought I would share it.

Heck... we're still in the process of selling our old house. We don't even think about the new house right now. It doesn't do any good.

You know, you already have the best things in the world: a beautifull loving family. There is no substitute. Everything else is just icing, stay healthy and you can make the rest with time and patience.

I'm like you. If I had the choice between the viper or the vette I'd be torn. The new styling of the vette don't really appeal to me but the fact it costs less, has the same power, weighs less, and the fact I'm a vette lover seems to make the choice real easy. But, the vette has to many electrical goodies and is maybe a little to much on the civilized side for me. The viper is nothing more than a sheer brute. Big engine, big tires, big car, not a bunch of fancy electrical stuff. But again, it's styling doesn't appeal to me that much either. I'm a curves guy. Cars should have lots and lots of curves. Just like the C5 and 2000 vipers. Those were sexy looking cars.

But since we're talking german cars, I would kill for an 740iL BMW. I've been in love with that car for years now. Or if I had the money, a McLaren F1 would suit me.

If I had $90K, I'd use it to buy a years supply of diesel. And with the leftover, get a burger.
