Web site hosting?

Just wondering if any one on here has any experiences with any website hosting companies? I have an idea that I want to get off the ground and have never had any dealings with any web site hosts. I know there are a few available, but want to get some real world feedback if possible. GoDaddy.com seems ok and there are others that I have been researching, so chime in and give some advise, so I might make an informed decision and maybe save another headache.
Thanks in advance.
Terry

Please don't see this as a shameless ad for my services...

I am running a web hosting company... in Austria.

I suggest that you proceed like this:

A: Choose domain name and register it.
B: Site design- do it yourself or let a pro do it.
If done by a pro, then listen to the suggestions of the pro designing it.
They do have experience on which hoster will play nice with their scripts, databases etc.
C: Do insist on complete backups, and have a migration scenario worked out.

Then look for a reasonable hoster, and don't worry about the pricing too much. If it takes you 50 hours a year to save 10US$ per month on the hosting bill you value your time at 2.40 US$/hour...
I think that you will have to look into the e-mail accounts too- how secure are they and what do they offer as backup-MX etc.

Just my 2c

Web site hosting is the service that keeps your site online.

Many people start with shared hosting. It is simple and low cost. It works for small sites.

GoDaddy works, but support can be slow for some users. Other hosts like Bluehost, SiteGround, or Webxloo are also used by many people.

Look for these things:
Uptime
Support
Email hosting
Easy setup
Upgrade options

Most hosts offer monthly plans. You can move later if needed.

Pick one that fits your budget and skill level.

This 'person' keeps on replying to ancient questions. Obviously a bot that does not own a single Cummins or Dodge. RanniWins if you are not a bot, howbout you complete your signature and tell us more about yourself and the Dodge vehicles you own and what you have done to them. You can't can you, because you are not human!

Mexstan I have reported this bot several times, but I think it will take more than one person reporting it to do any good. There is a button on the bottom of its profile that says report try that.

Yeah, tried reporting via that button about sundry bad posts, but apparently this no longer works or the mods are asleep at the switch. Does this site even have moderators any longer? The button at the bottom of the site lists the mods, but none of them have made any posts for years, so not sure how current this list is.

This is the response I got from them.

Hello

Have you used the Report Post function to report content? Staff are unpaid volunteers and it's unrealistic for them to read every single post.

Thanks,
Jeremy

Good morning, just wondering if we still have admins that monitor this site anymore? There are several (and we are getting more all the time) of obvious AI bots that are invading this site, and they are not what this site is about, could someone possibly go through the site and clean them out? thanks for your time.
