Get your sorry behinds outa bed. I don't care if it's Fathers Day AND my 34th Wedding Anniversary. My wife has me up and at it and I think you should be doing the same.:D
It's gonna be a beautiful day outside. Temp around 89 and a light breeze. Gonna finish up the roof and have a few cold ones, or visa versa. Might even do both at the same time.

Got in late from big rig/diesel pickup pulls at The Buck, the four legged alarm clock woke me up at 6:30 and now I can't get back to sleep. This afternoon I'll probably fall asleep and miss the end of the race.

Lary Ellis (Top) 06-19-2005 06:11 AM

Ok somebody shoot that guy hammering on that roof already[eyecrazy] Pretty obvious why trees are not made of tin, the woodpeckers would drive you crazy[eyecrazy]

Dragging the boat to the Marina today for another season, yall be good!

IA_James 06-19-2005 06:50 AM

Anybody else drinkin beer already? I had to work till 3 am, didn't get home till 4, tossing a few down so I can sleep with the sun shining.:( Too nice a day to have to work, I'll be back out this afternoon. Maybe.:D

Shovelhead 06-19-2005 08:49 AM

Happy Father's day to all the rest, and a a special congrats to Mrs. Shortround for putting up with his sorry behind for 34 years. :D

Mornin Folks,
Doing the 16-hour shuffle again today at work. Midnight to 1600 ,,,,,, [eyecrazy]
Happy Father's Day to all you Dads and and my own, who is still on "The United State's 5er Tour" with Mom and they are now visiting relatives in Tomah, WI. I'll give him a call later on today. He is still bragging about that new CTD and how well it's doing! :D They went the southern route all the way to CA and then up to WA and over. Should be back home in a few more weeks,,,,,,,,,,, only 1 flat tire on the 5er and luckily that was after they had come down out of the mountains in Montana. Dad said it will probably be a while before he can get Mom back up in any mountains,,,,,,,,, [laugh]

Y'all have a good one,,,,, :D

PistolWhipt 06-20-2005 12:06 AM

Happy Monday,

Hope all of you dad's had a great day yesterday. Looks to be another fine day, probably in the 80's again.

SR, late congrats on your anniversary. That is a long time ... sure is good to see. Heck, that's about 33 years and 11 months longer than most Hollywood marriages last.
I will hit my 19th in August :D

Have a great day, y'all

Shovelhead 06-20-2005 05:49 AM

Thank Goodness today is Monday and I'm back at my desk. [eyecrazy]
Woke up yesterday and told Wifey I wan't planning on doing anything work-wise.
Went out to the garage......
Decided to put the Cap back on the truck (by myself)never again, then washed vacuumed out the truck.
Then decided to pick up and clean my tools that were all over the garage after my last project, looked around and then moved everything out, swept it out, and rearranged all the stuff going back in.
I have daughter's fiance's lawn mower in the garage too 'cuz the storage shed next door was still cluttered.
Well, moved everything out of the shed, swept it out, dissassembled about a bazillion screws on an old metal shelf unit so I could dispose of it, and sawzalled apart an old built in double oven that I'd replaced a year and a half ago.

I need a day off to recover from my day off.............[laugh]

Mornin' all.
Hey Ed, I have a few things in my garage that I need stored elsewhere, got any more room?
Quiet weekend, grilled out with friends (didn't drink anything but water, refer to PistolWhipt's comment in last weeks cooler thread), called the old man and wished him happy father's day on Sunday. Rearrainged the office and the living room a bit and watched the boob tube. Of 150 channels, 3 are worth it (CNN, Disc, History).
Looks like its next week I go to Maryland.

Have a good one,
~Rob

Yep ... that was definately a Monday. I am sooooo tired of baby-sitting grown men  . Simple things just boggle their minds ... God forbid we hold ourselves to any kind of a standard !!

"It don't matter if you fall down, as long as you pick something off the floor when you get back up."

Sorry ... off my box.

Time to find a frosty adult beverage and contemplate my next move to thoroughly tick them off ....:D :D

I can sure relate to that, I never could understand why some people choose to whine about stuff instead of just doing what they can. Life is a challenge everyday, some people take the lumps and move forward, others just complain.

Like my Daddy used to say, If you are going to be a man, then BE ONE!

PS, the trick is to fall down next to the least objectionable object you caqn pick up :D

Morning from the East coast.
Cool morning, sunny skys, temps heading for the low to mid 80s.
G-G in the lot.
(I'm still on the same tank of fuel in the Beast from two weeks ago, now at 3/4 tank)

Interesting item in yesterday's local news.
D.C. Police Chief Wiggum,...I mean Ramsey, had his assigned black unmarked Crown Vic cruiser stolen from in front of his house.

good morning men.

Tilled the garden. Tilled under the okra. That was the sorriest stand of okra that I think I have ever laid my eyes on.[laugh] I'll try again this weekend. Weeded everything and fed the crumb snatchers bannana peppers. Had to fight them off the plants. Those boys would have picked the the stems clean. Heck, they probably would have eaten that too.[laugh] They are already eyeballing the cherry tomatos. as soon as any start to get yellow, they'll disappear like a 223 brass at the rifle range. Anyway, now that we have had a couple of days of sun, the garden is looking good.

Time for some[coffee] and I need more sleep. - JKE

Grrrr, somebody needs to get fired. Got my eggs at the cafeteria today and they were out of ketchup. How do you eat eggs without ketchup? How does a cafeteria run out of ketchup?
Other than that, looks to be a good day. Hey it can't get any worse ;)
Got my hog meat ready to take to the processor. Getting a bunch of sausage made. MMmmm

Take care ya'll,

Chris, hang tight with that knee buddy. I don't envy you in the least.

AKDSLDOG, how big is Wasilla and how long have you lived there ?? I had a good friend that lived there, probably 10+ years ago ... she really liked it there.

I moved to Wasilla in 78' from Anchorage. When we first moved here it was a one yellow flashing light at main st. and we shoped at a place called Teelands, it was the size of a 7-11 store but had it all, cloths, school supplies, food, you name it. Now it's like CRAZY![eyecrazy] !!! Population is 5,469 from a 2000 census, probly around 10,000 now. I have heared that Wasilla is second to Vegas in population growth for the USA. Heck we have a wal mart, fed myer's, lowes, home depot, sears. I know it sounds chump change to some of the cities most people here are from, but when you grow up here as long as I have, it's astounding to see. If I didn't have to commute to Anchorage for work I would move north to the property (1.25hrs north) and commute to wasilla, but the wages in Wasilla don't compare to Anchorage. We will soon have to get CITY HEAVY SHOP out here and you can bet I will have my app in. To me this place is stuck in my heart/memories, not sure if I could ever leave of coarse I would never leave the state!

Curt

Thursday.
Weekend's closer than it was on Monday.
Another nice DC morning.
Sunny skies w/ temps in the low 60s heading for the mid 80s.

Ever notice that many folks that drive $40,000+ "luxury" vehicles don't seem to be able to afford a $2.00 pair of sunglasses or figure out how sun visors work.
I see them each morning on the highway hitting the brakes ever time the sun gets in their eyes.

G-G in the lot again, Truck is almost down to 1/2 tank.
Not too shabby , been three weeks since I filled 'er up last.

Enjoy the day.

Y'all B safe,

hotdram 06-23-2005 06:22 AM

Mornin' all.
Hot again here today. Got the sunscreens on the house the other day, they make a big difference. How did we ever manage before codes and passwords? I've been at work less than 5 minutes and I've had to use a code to get into my office area, a code to retrieve my voicemail, a password to logon to my PC, a password to retrieve my email and a password to log onto our electronics timecard system (that is just a few I need on a daily basis). My head is spinning. And of course, it is company policy to not write any of these codes/passwords down [eyecrazy] Oh well, thank God for the "forgot password" option :)
It's official, I will be in Cockeysville MD. Monday afternoon/evening staying until ?????

Gotta go get some coffee, the pot is the only thing around here that doesn't require a password.

~Rob

Morning, although we got more Friday's switcvhing to a 12 hour schedule, we got more Mondays too.[eyecrazy] Slept in late yesterday. I did go hit the River in the afternoon. Wasn't getting into any activity, so I kept casting to tighter spots, which was devistation to the flybox. Some bugs finally started comeing off at dark before I got back to the car. I was able to salvage the day on a bunch of rainbows. Nothing too big, but fun. Did get Kaley some swimming time in before I put the waders on.

Shovelhead 06-24-2005 06:03 AM

No Coffee this morning......
Some ID10T didn't set up the pot last night before hitting the sack.:(
OOOOps, that's my job...... [eyecrazy]

No breakfast 'cuz I got up late, Wifey had 2 tires almost flat on her work vehicle...
Looks like it's gonna be one of those days.

Grabbed a Slim-fast shake outta the office fridge, them things ain't too bad.
They'd work good to wash down a couple of egg & sausage sandwiches.

Friday..........
