If an e-mail comes to you that says "a card for you" do not open it -- it will crash your hard drive. A freind learned the hard way this morning.

Even with full virus protection NEVER open any e-mail if you don't recognise who the sender is. Just delete it.

He had norton but it still got his hard drive, as Mexstan says if not sure do not open. apparently they have figured out a way to identify themselves with a name you would recognize to get you to open the e-mail.

That's the reason I asked. Norton has some warnings on their web page about some new virus's that mask themselves so virus software systems do not recognize them as threats. The virus can send itself with a known "from address" from your own PC address book causing one to think the email is legitimate.

Have heard of this one several times over the years. It's been verified as a hoax.
