Veterans-VA Streamline mortgage???

My wife has been after me for months now about these VA streamline mortgages that we keep getting in the mail. No out of pocket expence, 2 months without mortgage payment, no fees ect plus will drop our rate from 7.5% to 5%.

Just wanting to know if anyone of you vets out there have gone with one of these? I'm not to sure how to judge which bank from the piles of mail I get would be best. I don't want one that is gonna, "oops" forget to pay my home insurance or property tax. But with the times the way they are and a big 2.5% gift horse looking me in the face I hate to pass up the possible savings.

Any info would be appreciated thanks,

Shawn

I've never done the streamline refinance thing, but my home is currently on a VA note through Wells Fargo and I've had no problems with things getting paid. We bought in 03 and i currently have a 5.5% note. It wouldn't be as good a deal for me as you. I've also been told that Arvest is a self owned bank in good standing. Hope this helps.
