V6 Overhead Cam Lock Tool - Where to find one?

I've got a 95 Chrysler Sebring and its got a 2.5 mistubushi v6 with overhead cams.

I want to replace the timing belt, but need a tool to lock the cams in place while i take the timing belt off.

Any DC mechanics here know where I can buy one? Thanks

Miller tools, I find quite a few of the special tools I need on Fleabay, especially now that so many dealerships are closing.

I got a response from Miller tools and Snap on, no such tool.

Wonder how the techs do it at the dealerships?

The 6G7 engine is fairly popular engine, there has to be a tool for it.

It may be one that the generic timing gear holder will work on. It looks like a spring loaded doohickey with C's on either end.

I can't find one that looks exactly like mine right now, but here are 2 that might just work.

I got one from MAC tools years ago....still don't know why, never used it. Sits on a shelf in my shop collecting dust. Anyhow, it's shaped like a H and the center part of the H is threaded, one is lefty, one righty so when you tighten it will push out the vertical parts of the H. It also has pins on it to engage the cam gear teeth.

The dealership techs are supplied that type of stuff, it's part of Chrysler letting them become a dealer, they have to have certain special tools, thank goodness for that, when I was doing it I could'nt afford to supply "ALL" the tools for the dealer.

I'll try and get a picture up in a few minutes for you.

I bought one of those blue cam locks off amazon, thought I might weld something up or something as last resort.

Those two links are for 4 cylinders, or dual overhead cams.

The v6 cams are single overhead and are very far apart, like 16 inches from wheel to center wheel.

If you can get a picture that would be great, I'll check out Mac tool site and give them an email. I was hoping for something low cost, like under $50.

Never used one on a timing belt. Don't need it. Just put the motor on#1 TDC. If you have no clue, let someone who does do it.
