unsafetrucks.org.....lawyers with too much time

Forty miles from me is a law firm that is jealous of Ralph Nader. Look at their web site unsafetrucks.org. Below is my contribution of a report to them and their answer. Included in the reply is finally the email addresses that can be found nowhere else for a comment.

Thank you for voicing your opinion. We are not trying to harass truckers. We put a link on our web site instructing 4-wheeler drivers how to drive safely without putting truck drivers in danger. Even though you do not agree with what we are doing, we thank you for letting us know. We appreciate the value that truck drivers have to all of us who depend on trucks for so many things.
Roll on Safely Alabama

What happened?: Whats the matter, business slow, or just looking for a pot of gold by harrasing truckers? You can't even come up with serious truck at fault" accidents that involve fatalities. Want to help, control the d**n cars that don't know how to drive and create accidents. I am sure you don't speed or do other unsafe things on the road.
Get a life. Check AAA reports about big truck accidents. Car orginations would like to have the safety record that trucks have with the miles they travel. Most trucks don't even do the speed limit. A car driver would not know the difference between a legal load and an armidillo. All you are doing is inciting the public against trucks that they cannot live without.

Yea, it is another "killer trucks" thing just like what was going on about 25 years ago. I noticed there was NOTHING to report as far as the safety 'record' of cars and no indication as to how many cars CAUSED the fatalities they cite in their statistics.

Yeah, they have billboards, bumper stickers and other hype. I think it is rediculous that they expect cars to report unsafe loads, and not properly tied down. It is totally foolish, most cars have no idea what is proper or safe. They could not even come up with good example accidents. The bridge in Birmingham was caused by the driver going to fast on a freeway exit, his fault, no doubt. But no one injured either and it did not "blow up", just caught fire. The Mobile Cattle truck was casued by a pickup truck and is listed that way in the news. Last years AAA report said that 82% of big truck accidents was casued by cars. I really meant what I said, on the strip of I59 most trucks go over 65, I make that run sevral times a week, including one tonight, leaving in a few minutes.

The pulp wood haulers being required to have the Alabama only $300,000 would be a good thing, I go for that. But that bill is already in the House Committee. Trucks here are required to have 300,000 for Alabama authority and 750,000 for federal authority. I have 750. The hole comes when the pulpwood is exempt and requires no authority. That does need to be fixed. You don't see many pulpwood trucks on the highway like you used to. Sierra took care of that....

Can't do that. They're on their cell phones reporting an unsafe load or talking to the lawyers! {Yeah, right!}

My favorite bumper sticker is "Hang up and Drive"
