I am going to be running down to Bryan TX to pick up my new Gooseneck Brand Cattle trailer my plan is drive stright from Cynthiana KY down to Dallas and stay the night after the 918 miles to Dallas and then the next morning drive down to Bryan and pick up my trailer then drive up to Little Rock AR. I have mapped out driven back from Bryan to Dallas then take I-30 up to Little Rock and night there, or take the back roads from Bryan up to I-30 somewhere bypassing Dallas. I dont know if it would be quicker hitting all the small towns and taken different roads.

If you are able bypass Corsicana TX. (about 70 miles south of Dallas ) Major roadwork on I 45, the backup has been between 30 min and 2 hours. Has made the news on the Dallas stations two or three times. I got caught in it the last time I went to Houston

Also this is the way that I would go around the problem, take US59 south at Texarkana to US 79 south then cut across to Buffalo and take I 45 to Madisonville take US 190 into Bryan.

Or if you what to stop in Dallas, Take I 35 south to Waco and pick up State HY 6 into Bryan.

Both ways are good roads, have a nice trip.

I run the roads quite a bit, so if I can help give me a shout.

If going from Dallas to Bryan I'd definitely take the I-35 to Hwy 6 route (unless you're leaving Dallas during afternoon rush hour...in which case you will want to avoid I-35 at all costs and take I-45 south instead). I drove back from Houston just yesterday on that same route.

Or you can just stay on 79 and follow it all the way to Hearne and go south on Hwy 6 from there.
US190....aka 21. You could also take OSR, but it's a bit of a rough road.
