Trip Last Week
Took a trip from Albuquerque to Arlington, TX, then to Midland, TX then back home. Grandparents visit. We chose the longer interstate route to Arlington this time – I40 East to O’City & I35 South to Arlington. We left last Wednesday right after work. Filled the tank at the Loves at 6th & I40 here in Albuquerque. For the trip, I put the tach on 2000 rpm, around 71 mph, and set the cruise control. 295 miles later, we stopped overnight in Amarillo. Got up Thursday morning and topped off the tank – 15.8 gallons. From Amarillo to O’City then South to Arlington – 465 miles and still had just under 1/2 tank left. If I had been able to stay on the interstate, I could have easily hit 600 miles on that single tank. After checking into the hotel, we drove to my cousin’s house then had to come back into town with my nephew to Lowes. Stopped at a “T” intersection to turn right – the road from my left was hidden by a blind left curve by a lot of brush and trees. I stopped, looked and made my right turn. The pavement was a little too smooth. Nothing coming, but the rear of my Ram swung out about 20 degrees. I truly didn’t mean to do that. However, sitting at the side of the road, watching the whole show, was a Deputy Sheriff
. He didn’t do anything. Just sat there and let me go on my merry way. Nephew’s eyes were quite large. Drove around the South-Arlington area all day Friday. Poured 5 gallons into the tank Saturday morning. Then filled up in Weatherford & went to Midland. Again topped off the tank Monday morning on my way out of town headed back to Albuquerque. 420 miles later, got home with just under ˝ tank left.

Ya gotta love the mileage these things will give ya.

DW
Yep, I got mine out on the road for the weekend. Loveland, CO to Topeka, KS. Cruise on 70-75mph. Got 590+ on 30.1 gals. Total on way home, 640+ on 33.2 gals. This out of a 2001.5 QC, 4x4, auto loaded with coolers, water, tent, and supplies to tailgate properly at Heartland Park.
I was banned per my own request for speaking the name Pelosi

Wait til that little screw on your pump gets twisted. I'd blame it on vibrations if I didn't mutilate the dust cover to get it off.... coarse it's been out of warranty for quite a while.
I'm also thinking of doing the lift pump soon. Mines wet, and even when I do try to stay out of it, the mileage isn't spectacular.
