Tree or bush suggestions

I'm planning on planting trees or bushes in my yard. Does anyone know if any bush or sapling is safe against being eaten by deer.

Thanks

I'd talk to a local nursery to see if there is a variety that is deer proof, I don't know of any. I'm a landscaper is the reason I say that. That being said, deer are browsers, meaning they prefer eating over their heads. This means they like to eat small tender green twigs, and leaves. So planting small trees can attract them if there in the area. Hope this helps. Later, Tony

i have worked for nurserys/tree farms most of my life, even grew up on one. as fare as i know, there is no such thing as a deer proof tree. they will pick one or more out and destroy them. buy what you like, and then deer-proof it. save your money and stay away from store bought repellants, though. cut bars of orange dial soap into large chunks and hang them on or near whatever you don't want destroyed. has to be the bar-type soap and name brand works best. the best repellant money can buy.

A fork and a knife works pretty good to.

go to your local hunting store and get a bottle of Coyote urine.
carefully( you dont want any of the stuff on YOU), keep the area 'marked" that you want them to avoid...after amonth or so, they will have learned to stay away from teh area( at least till next year). I have never tryed this myself, but the guy at the local "pick your own" apple orchard has been doing it for years and swears by it...
