I saw it in the theater, and then had my wife pick it up. I dont want to seem like a child, but hands down, in my top 10 contemporary movies.
It has everything, robots, guns, semi trucks doing 180's.
Without surround sound i wouldnt even chance it though.

The g/f just got it for me this weekend. No surround sound in the hotel room this week, but I'm watching it anyone. Just gives me another excuse to watch it when I get home to my surround system.

Saw it three times in the theater, countless times on DVD that I got from a guy at work and now the wifey picked up the real DVD so I can watch it in surround sound .

somthing i should add as a side note. too old for transformers or not, still good. Even worse was a friend got me this Optimus Prime toy, its like a foot and a half tall. took me over an hour to change into the semi, thats with the instructions. ages 5+ my ***.
