really? that is pretty cool i have never seen anything like that before! i have heard about them but never seen them! he got it running and it ran for a bit then he said it locked up and cant get it going again ???

If you go to Page 2 of the member photos section and look under dieseldude4x4,s pics and hobbies, you can see a picture of the old R model taking first place in the 9000 pound class. That is the one with the pony motor.

well i totally missunderstood what dad was talking about well it doesnt have a pony motor! sorry im retarded! the dozer starts up on gas and then u convert it over to diesel! thats even weirder!!

Ron

We once had a Farmall SMD Ta that had a gasoline pony motor on it. There was a definate art to switching over when cold not to kill both motors! Never liked that tractor.. sold it and replaced it with an 880 oliver. NOW THAT WAS A TRACTOR.<br>Just recently found out that the SMD Ta was a fairly rare tractor, kinda wish we had kept it now, would have been really low houred tractor, heck wish I would have kept the 880 also.
