Summer's a Cummin's Brakeroom - 4/17 - 23

Smile sniffers, hot weather is on its way. No more snow. No slush. Change your tires. Clean up the vehicles. Put away your heavy clothes and coats and long johns. Lary - - Scotty - - polish and oil your LEGGS so you can show them off in your shorts. YEH. ............

Coffee, ph00 and hot water are one and await you along with some fresh sprinkles I found at Walmart. Enjoy.

.................[coffee]

Now, go to church. Daddy said. Daddy is always right, never left - - - no way, Jose.

RightyBob

Scotty 04-17-2016 06:41 AM

Lary uses acid
I use a wire brush
Leggs need a 'special' look.
:D

Mexstan 04-17-2016 06:45 AM

Good morning peoples. Bob, thanks for the coffee. Will pass on the sprinkles because they smell like garlic. Love garlic, but just not on sprinkles.
Summer has been here for some time now. Spring lasted about 3 days. What are long johns? Is there a short john?

Frost this AM. Rabbits running around the yard. Roxie wants to go out and chase them. I want to stay inside and keep warm. Both the wife and I had a rough night from this crud. We took turns having coughing fits.

Tallguy67 04-17-2016 11:46 AM

Happy Sunday all y'all. Thanks for breakfast FiverBobo. It is going to be a beautiful and warm day here on the edge of the Canadian prairies. DW has strongly suggested that I get off my posterior today and do some things like take down the Christmas lights and start getting the lawn tractor ready for the mowing season. I don't have a good counter-argument so I guess chores are the way to go :)
Play safe and have a good day.

sherod 04-17-2016 12:38 PM

Sean- They are only Christmas Lights during December. The other months they a "Artfully placed secondary illumination". Think of them a pretty security lights!

Stan, the man. You been too busy - - slow down. You are retired - - remember? And the sprinkles do NOT smell like garlic. Smell your arm pit, boy! ..................[yuk]............Oh, ask ScottyLeggs about short johns - - he calls his Pampers.

Wow, horrible quake in Equador - - what a mess.

Good church this morning, the blonde treated for lunch, then off to a concert. Wow, very nice day.

Well, the last few days just weren't that much fun,
But in the kitchen the important stuffs done.
' lectrics run and to my glee
Not once did I electrocute me!
A new service panel is in place
So for appliances there is now space.
Outlets hung in orderly row
And lighting too, don't cha know.
New drain pipes for an apron sink
And properly vented, so it won't stink.
Two big windows now let in light,
Tho framing them in was a bit of a fight.
The butlers pantry has a fresh new wall,
Where water-rot made the old fall.

Time washing clothes the wife can now spend
The laundry room reno has reached the end
That's one space that is complete,
And if I may say so, turned out real neat.
The dryer exhausts thru a hidden vent,
A lot of work but time well spent
The walls are finished, as are the floors,
One room is finished! Now only four more!

Monday number 7 of this week is done. Thunder Over Louisville may be a big party for some, but I think I am beginning to detest it...

Missing one week of prep due to illness has me scrambling. I'm glad I work with a team that can roll with the punches. Tomorrow, we figure out how 8 people can rig security rope, (7000 ft) and pull it down 4 hours after we put it up. All without interrupting taxiing aircraft and other such nice things.....

Chrisreyn 04-19-2016 05:37 AM

It's 0530 sleepy heads!
Rouse yourselves, get out of bed!!
Donuts, coffee and even phoo,
Say good morning to all of you!

j_martin 04-19-2016 09:24 AM

Oh no, oh no, it's raining out.
I'll lay in bed and do the pout.
Must I get up, I do resist.
Oh here she comes with her do list.
So thanks for the doughnuts, coffee, and ph00,
and top o the morning back to you.

FiverBob 04-19-2016 09:37 AM

I have had two days of digging in the slop to find an underground leak around my softener, hauling yard debris, installing a mail box for a neighbor who did not know how to do it (including hurting my shoulder some more) and a bunch of hours trying to get my dumb computer to attach to my wifi. Why did it NOT attach is the question - - it does it every day, but yesterday it decided to get honery. So, I finally, just now, got back on the wifi, hence the web. What do I find - - a bunch of poets confusing me while I try and figure out what they are trying to tell me. LOL - - - you guys are amazing. Love it. I am amused and impressed with your ability to make this stuff up so easily. Carry on, Watson. ..........

Grabbing my ph00 and getting back outside to install a new water softener. Boy have those things gone up since the last time I bought one. Well, come to think of it, so has everything else except my paycheck. Hmmm, come to think about it, I don't get a paycheck and it is for sure Social Security check has not increased. Oh well, can't complain. Life is good - - except for this dumb wifi. ...............[dummy]....................

Ph00...................[coffee]....................GONE.

Chrisreyn 04-19-2016 10:48 AM

Bob pops in just to say hi,
Niw he's connected via wifi
He says he works too much and's sore
Yet he keeps going back for more!
A water softener to install?
For Builder Bob, no orders too tall.
Yard debris that you need gone?
That just gonna make him yawn.,
Bobby's days will never be boring
As long as his wife keeps him choring!!!!

Long day tied to the Computers. Unplugging and eating supper. "

"Bye"!

FiverBob 04-20-2016 04:21 PM

Evening gang. Hope the day was a good one. Got lots done today. Put in new water softener. Man that thing is smart. I have a monitor like a TV remote control that sits in the house showing me water usage instant, average, over the past week, condition of the softening process, how much salt is left, I can program in when to go into recharge, how hard my water is to control the process, it will warn me when salt is low. This thing is slick Willie. Just way too expensive. Oh well, just money.

Made some fresh ph00 .....................[coffee]

Supper is calling - - - well, the blonde is calling. Better go - - don't want her bopping me in the head. L8R

Chrisreyn 04-21-2016 08:50 AM

I toiled late into the night
Ensuring everything's just right
My share of work is now complete
It's ready for thst rock in sheets
But as they hang and mud drywall
I must get back on the ball
Window and trim that were painted bright yellow
Need scraped clean of psint, ain't I just a lucky fellow?
But today I think I'll sit and rest
So tomorrow I can do my best

sherod 04-21-2016 04:00 PM

This weekend is Thunder Over Louisville, part of the Kentucky Derby Celebration. I have spent all week running background checks on the multitudes who are wanting to visit the Base to view the aircraft in the airshow. I can now say, I truly despise anyone who wants to look at parked aircraft. Saturday, I am the lead Controller/dispatch for the Security team. In the words of some actor, "I pity the fool" that irritates me........

Now for a hopefully nice quiet evening with me and the house critters.......

Mexstan 04-21-2016 05:39 PM

G'day. I see that the usual fine fellows here are doing their usual outstanding job of "communicating". Weird, but do admit that it is fun to read. Some of you definitely are ................... well maybe I will not go there. [laugh]

I see that this place is somewhere between dead and deader.

BusyBob, when you find out how a retired person can relax and twiddle their thumbs, please let me in on the secret.

Just finished installing new Carli ball joints in my truck. Sure glad that I have a professional press to help me do this job, because I can see that it would be impossible with a mickey mouse tool. For years now, one front tire has been wearing in a very strange pattern and even some chunks tearing out of the tread. Have spoken to many tire shop 'experts' and various mechanics, but nobody could figure out the problem. Now think I know the cause. Many years ago a 5 star Dodge dealer in Texas installed new ball joints for me. Did not know it, but the upper ball joints they installed were camber adjustable. The upper ball joint on one side was not tight, so the camber could change randomly. Found this out when I tried to loosen the nut and the whole thing just spun. Ended up by cutting the nut off with a torch. Fortunately the taper in the knuckle was not damaged. Now to get an alignment and two new tires. Going to go with Yokohama's again. Think that I am the only one of this site that uses Yokohama's.

Anybody else have any trouble getting into the Autozone site? For about a week now every time I try I get a "403 Forbidden" message. Can access the Mexican Autozone site with no problem, but when I click on their US link, back comes the 403. Yes, I cleared my cache.

oliver foster 04-22-2016 07:46 AM

Stan,
I have run Yokohama Geolander AT-S on my '01 for years and I have a set of 315/75/r16s on my '95 2500 right now too.

Cool, that you may have solved the tire wear issue.

FiverBob 04-22-2016 07:51 AM

Mornin gang - - - fresh coffee and ph00 are on the counter - - no time to fix anything else. Off to nursery for more plants, sod, mulch - - still not done in that yard. Think I will go buy a condo - - 20th floor on the bay. No plants, no grass, no mulch, no weeds, nuthin to do but - - - - uhhhh, sit and talk with you guys. HMMM????? on second thought, think I will buy a bigger house, with more grass, plants, mulch, bigger pool, more stuff to do. YEH - - keeps me ou of trouble.

Been using the Geolander H/T-S LT315/70R17 for years and am very happy with them, even when towing my RV. My local dealer does not have these tires in stock, but does have the AT-S, so will go with them. They have virtually the same specs as the Michelin's and are quite a bit cheaper.

Now that I have new ball joints, the steering wheel is no longer centered. Guess that says a lot about the bad ball joints. Going in on Monday for the new tires and the alignment.

Bob, thought that you were retired and handing out advice on how to take it easy? [guitar]

Como esta???? Hey, who you been talking to? I need to talk to whoever told you that cuz maybe they truly know who is handing out such info - - - you can come with me. .................[duhhh]

Just came in from another full day in the yard planting, laying some sod, pulling weeds, mulching. DUH. Don't know when to quit. Need 20 more bags of mulch and will be done. That will be 80 bags for this spring. OUCH, my aching back - - - and arms - - and legs - - - and feet - - - - and head - - - and - - - well, you get the idea. Gotta quit doing this stuff. Keep telling the wife maybe we should go buy a condo on the gulf about 20 floors up. No weeds, no grass to mow, bushes to trim, trees to cut, roof to clean, pool to clean, drive to clean, walk to clean, outside walls to wash and paint. Wow, more I talk about it the better it sounds. Just sit in the porch, look out over the water, drink ph00, read a book, go work out, cool off in the pool and go walk the beach. DUH, what am I doing here???

OK, refill and hit the shower......................[coffee]

FiverBob 04-23-2016 06:35 AM

Uhhh, ok, I am back on earth and OK. Just need to rebalance. Let's see - - first task is make the coffee and ph00. OK done. Second task??? So, dummy, fill your mug (no, not that mug - - my coffee mug). Ok done. .............................[coffee]

Off to a car show today. Supposed to be close to 200 exotic, classic, antique, sports, you name it cars. Several are worth over $1million. Sky diving and Wallenda doing a tight rope walk. Should be fun. See ya later.
