yum....Root Beer floats for breakfast! Good idea Bobby! Thanks!
Decided to beat the rain coming in today and cut the grass last night. I was doing good until I found the yellow jacket nest with the weed-eater. At least 7 of the little critters got me. Could have been more cuz it was all about at the same time. This mornings mission, if you accept, is to wage war and annihilate the varmints. They are dug in at the base of a tree in the front yard. Bring your implements of destruction!!!!!!!
Glad I'm not really allergic to stings. My brother had to carry an epi everywhere. All i get from multiple stings is a very hot temper that lasts for 3 or 4 hours. (Sorry Bride!!!!!) The little dog also has a swollen face. She wasn't with me in the yard but was on the back deck with DW. She might be collateral damage from the enemy.

Morning all.
RootBeerBob, yuh dun gud. Thanks. I do like a good root beer, but will save it for later in the day, not breakfast.
sherod, rather you than me. When I get stung I swell. A lot. When I was a kid I used to wear glasses and once got stung just under one eye. It made my glasses sit at an angle on my face and resulted in a lot of teasing.
Nice day yesterday, but all day we had a very unusual, quite cold wind. No rain, but it threatened a few times later in the afternoon.
JWBM, aim south with that dart and get away from some of the cold and horrible white stuff.
Hope everybody has a great day.

Root beer floats are the best.
I am a tactical specialist when it comes to wasps. It involves a good day time plan and set up. Come night fall...adiós!!!
I found three wasp nests and a bee hive all within a 6 foot area here. The bees were only a foot above the wasps in the shed wall. I used precision injections of the wasp and hornet long range spray. Tested it with about 4 feet of 3/8 fuel hose attached. Each nest received a full can. I did not want to take out the bees. However, we have family that swell and could die if stung.
Big storms rolled thru here yesterday and last night. Forecast for more today. 2" hail hurts.
Enjoy the week folks.

Ya named this one right, Bob. We're heading for 90° here today with 100° heat index. Pretty hard on folks with -40° conditioned blood streams.
Church annual picnic today. Should be a good time if a storm doesn't develop over us. One's going by to the north right now. I expect most folks to bail pretty early to seek shelter from the heat.

if I went to mexico, I'd love it!
my luck I would settle in the middle of a drug cartel and end up making some new friends.
hmmmm heat! no one complains here because we remember the winter.
bring it on! don't get much hail here, thank you finger lakes. they have their own weather system which stops a lot of the nasty stuff.

Here I sit upon my chair
A computer screen into I stare
Watching life as it scrolls by
I ponder which is truth or lie
This on said that that one lied
This one likes boys, oh dear, oh my
A murder here a big crash there
You'd thing the world's in disrepair
Here I sit upon my chair
Outside my window all is swell.

Chilled drinks hit the spot-thanks Bob! Just in from mowing the yard. Getting warm out there.
Anyone up for some fishing in the morning? I'm thinking about it.

Good morning and happy Sunday all y'all,
Talk about a not-peaceful start to the day. As I mentioned yesterday we have had very hot weather for quite a while. That all came crashing to a stop this morning. Thunder started rumbling in the distance about 4:40am and then the alarm on the weather alert radio went off at 6:15 am. About 15 minutes later the storm arrived. There was no hail and not much wind but talk about a light show. The lightning was hitting so close that we could see it hitting the trees about half a mile away and the shockwave from the lightning was making the whole house shake. The two towns nearest to us (8 and 12 miles away) have serious flooding. So glad that our hay got bailed yesterday. The yield wasn't great but not nearly as bad as we expected. Last year we got 36 x 1,200lb round bales off 14 acres. This year we go 17 bales. So, we got about 50% of normal. That isn't bad, lots of folks around here are getting 25% or normal yield.
For now the storms are moving north and east but I expect there will be more this afternoon.
BTW, the root beer float was awesome, thanks a bunch.

I should go fishing.
Either I had more money in my account than I thought before I got paid this week, or there's some money missing. Hoping I had more than I thought I did.
Going to get a new pool cue. Sold my 4-wheeler. Stashed away the cash where I won't see it and therefore won't spend it. Buyer wanted to hear it run and it needs the carb cleaned. So I opened the valve on my burnz-o-matic torch and stuck it in the intake. Couple cranks and it fired right up. Smelled like bad gas for a minute. Once we got it on his trailer we noticed the gas was off, so it might not have even needed the carb cleaned, because the fresh gas in the tank couldn't get there.
Feels like nap time.

Boy, this has been a nutty year for weather. I mentioned in yesterday's late report some might have not read - - we broke a record here yesterday. This time of year we might hit 91 or 2. 95 was the highest ever for the 11th. Well, forget that - - I got up early, grabbed the fiver and brought it home to wash and start a wax job. Had it home by 7am. Worked on it until 5ish last night. Soaked 4 shirts, 3 headbands, my jeans (no Scotty, did not wet my pants - - DUH). It was 97 - - new record. It was brutal. This morning I was up at 5 to grab Sunday paper, still very dark - - suddenly realized up toward Tampa bay the sky was alive. Multiple lightning flashes lighting up the sky continuously for as long as I watched. I am used to lightning living here, but never have I seen it this way - - I watched for a good 10 minutes and never did see a dark sky - - always lit up with multiple lightning strokes. Amazing sight.
Speaking of stingy thingys - - when I brought the RV home and got out of the truck, I noticed the back of the fiver was alive with bees. They had made a hive inside my back bumper. DUH. They were everywhere. I would love to have saved the hive, but can't get at it without complete removal of the bumper - - and I ain't doin' that. So, hit it into the little slit they were using coming and going with my commercial spray. I just swept the drive and walkway. I did some rough calcs based on average number of dead bees on each paver and came up with about 1500 dead ones at this point and still coming out. It was two dust pans full of bees. Hated to do this, but no choice. They were all over me, but no stings. Don't seem to like me much - - boo hoo - - no body loves me. ............
