Question Straight Frame?

I have a 97 BR1500 4X$ that my son tried to move a tree with last night. We got it home this morning. [very mad] (son was OK until Mom saw the Truck ) The truck hit the tree on its right side behind the passenger door then took the right side of the bed and crumbled it up like crumbled newspaper. The rear Axel was knocked out of the truck. My question is; How do I check to see if the frame is straight? Please help Thanks

Not that they are the same, but I had to take my Ford to the body shop because I couldnt see the bend with my eyes. They used lasers (somehow) to check it. Maybe somebody here has a home method.

If you have a good flat place you can do a preliminary check by hanging a lead down from 4 corner points and marking the position on the ground (like the rear spring mounts and front bumper mounting holes) and check that the diagonals and the distances are the same (symmetric)
You can use some more points and get more accurate measurements.
You will also need to check any riveted mount on the frame if it has shifted.
If you have any doubt take it to a frame shop.
