Re:Stereo Upgrade Questions

Man, we got a little off the topic here I see. I don't think the original poster wants this much stereo. Some good reading here though.

Re:Stereo Upgrade Questions

Matt your idea will definately work adding an amp to the 6 speakers you plan on installing will definately make them sound better. Especially if you buy an amp with built in crossovers. Don't forget that the factory 6 speaker system in the trucks is also amplified so to achieve the sound you are looking for you will probably have to install an amp. For the sound you are looking for though you should not have to change the factory speaker wire your not going to be jambing on it like us guys.

This year we will be going in as 4yr class 2 amature under stock radio. As for the mid and highs deal. It must be different where you are cause they measure all around thats why we hit so high. Plus the first year we used something that is not recommended.
Im just anoxiuos to see what we hit with tthis new setup.

SD03

Re:Stereo Upgrade Questions

I got a Craig AM/FM/8 Track powering an awesome 5" paper speaker with a hole in it in the center of my dash. I got it at Pep Boys. It's really loud, like about 100dB at about 99% THD.

Chicks dig it. 8) 8)

BTW, does anyone know where I can get a hub adapter for a chain steering wheel? Will it work with the cruise control?

Any recommendations on an amp and do you think the JL's you spoke of are still best "with" an amp or is another upgrade in order?

Don't want to do that if I don't have to but where do I stop upgrading? Gota draw the line here somewhere. I am gonna hold firm on no subs.
Re:Stereo Upgrade Questions

I took my door skins off to make the speakers louder... now I get the sound from the front AND the back. If I don't have a passenger, I slide both speakers beind the seat to my side to make it real loud.
