I am looking for a spotting scope for this years hunts.
Can you guys give me any suggestions? I'll probably
be ordering it over the internet, which means I may be buying
it w/out ever seeing it, so any help is much appreciated.

When you say spotting scope do you mean the tripod variety or are you thinking more along the lines of a laser range finder?

 

For something in the price range you indicate, it would be hard to beat a Leupold 12x40 or a Bausch and Lomb Elite 15x45. I have a B&L and like the light weight and compactness, but my Swarovski certainly outshines it albeit at a lot more $$$$.

Swarovski would be my top pick, if you would like to buy it for me.

Simmons are surprisingly good, off of cheaper than dirt.com, But i do have a nikon as well and they are great too..
