Sometimes running late is a good thing

They say all things happen for a reason.....maybe thats true

So I'm running behind getting everything loaded up (this will come as no surprise to those that know me ) I'm out front loading stuff when I see a red Buick pull up and park about 20' behind my service van that is parked on the other side of the street. this is not one of my neighbors cars so I'm kind of keeping an eye on it also kind of weird that no one is getting out of it. about 15 minuets later this total dirtbag looking guy gets out and walks up to about 15" away from me and asks if I have any gas {no} then he asks if I want to buy some fishing gear {no} I live in a pretty good neighborhood and you just don't get people trying to sell stuff out of the back of a car. By this time ALL the red lights are going in my head, I call 911 and report whats happening, takes about a half hour for a cop to get there (mean while I'm keeping a eye on this guy as he's walking up the street and back then going back to sitting in the car) cop comes up to me and I tell him what happened, he gets back in the car and I hear him backing up pretty quick, I look around the front of the RV and dirtbag is walking quickly north but the cop gets him quick. Turns out the car is stolen and completely out of gas, the cop tells me the guy is speaking non sense. So it looks like he's a druggie and was probably looking for another car to steal.
Moral of this story is don't ever ignore that little voice in your head telling you something is wrong with this picture, I'm very glad one of my neighbors didn't get their car stolen this afternoon because I'm running late, no one else was out on the street this afternoon.

I know you live in a much bigger city than I do, but your only a hop, skip, and a jump away. I hope we don't get any dirtbags like that in my neighborhood.
