You lead a hard life. You know that. Beautiful area. After living in the city and watching everything around me get destroyed and built on, it's nice to see pictures like this and know that is still wildlands in other parts of the world.

It was a test flight because we had to change the engine mounts. The owner says he always takes the technician for a spin after any major repair As long as the technician feels at ease he feels at ease too
The forests are all cultured landscape, there has been forestry going on for several centuries, but it has always been a healthy kind of forestry.

I was disappointed not to see Snoopy or the Red Baron!

Seriously, really fabulous pictures. Thank you for sharing them with us on the ground over here!

Man oh Man! What beautiful country. Reminds me of home almost. Seriously the mountains around me are 3500 feet, and the valleys have rivers between. Not nearly as high as yours though and ours all have Christmas tree farms on them now.
How high were you? Looks like around 3000 feet above ground level? Did your wife get to ride too? I have all these questions.

Since this was a test flight with the proprietor with a 2 seater my wife didn't get a ride with this one. But she had plenty of them. She fell in love with an MCR02, small 2-seater, optional turbocharged 140hp engine, 185kts economic cruise and vne 240kts. Fun around the mountains.
Altitude of this flight was about 5400ft which is somewhere around the height of the medium to higher peaks in this region. (and also about 1500-2500 ft above the valley ground)
Snoopy and the Red Baron had their day off, so the Blue Condor had to be aired a little. The Kiebitz is built after the plans of a training biplane of the 20es.. Weight empty is around 490 pounds Just the basic instruments and the fun begins.

I think I'll continue to put some galleries up here.. gives me the opportunity to show you some beautiful sights of Austria. Enough bad makes the news, so I'll counteract this a bit

I don't have a pilot's license. If I were a pilot I wouldn't have time to take the pictures
