Smoked lights

I ordered and installed smoked cab lights, early 2nd gen style, not too long ago. I was a little disappointed and misled when they were just clear lenses with black bases, thus 'smoked' as recon calls them. But lately, Ive seen some 3rd gens with smoked lights that are actually dark gray, not the clear lenses like mine. I want some like this. Does anyone know if they are made for the early 2nd gen style? If not, are the 3rd gen styles adaptable to the holes I have drilled, or will atleast cover the holes I have?

Can't help you on the lights themself but there was another thread labled
project goodnight and the guy used some paint from vht called nightshades
to black his lenses. I've been thinking about the same thing since i'm going for the solid black look. Check his truck out, it was mighty clean.
