Skinned my tailgate...

Well today I removed my tailgate and leaned it against a guywire in a grassy spot while the fellows at the apple co-op loaded a pallet of apples. A gust of wind sent it skating into the asphalt parking area. I guess I know what I'll be surprising my wife with this Christmas.

Mighty big graphic. When I say skated I mean like I drug it. 150 grit wheel won't take out part of it. Sniff, sniff. Never too old to learn I guess.

You can't get it out? Do you got a bunch of holes in it or road rash? Get one of the custom louvred jobbers- looks cool and is cheaper.

Oh a body shop can fix it alright... It'll have to be sanded deep into the metal though. I just didn't need a boo-boo now if you know what I mean. I knew it was lighter than the tailgate on my '85 Ram but it surprises me how little wind sent it sailing. Maybe if I leave the tailgate down until I can scrape up the money to get it repaired I won't have to be reminded about it everytime I walk by it.

Or you can spend $30 on a cargo net and pretend your a Baja Racer... If you want to REALLY play, put a 4 in lift kit on there. Then you can say that you got rid of the tailgate on purpose.

Maybe I need my head examined.... I'm pondering getting the passenger side of the bed repainted along with the tailgate. Wonder what it'll cost? The paint is so thin on the passenger side but DC disagrees so it'll be my $$$$.
