I'm really diggin that two-story setup!! That would be killer. Maybe at my next assignment.

Dave, what kind of Mustang lover has a GM F-body in his garage???

Oh, and get that 5.0 off the stand and in the car already!!
Guilty. I haven't gotten around to setting the valves on it yet. It's got a 383 stroker LT1, ported & polished heads, cam, roller rockers, well, everything from top to bottom really, should be good for 11's, and ~425-445 rwhp. We will see. That 302 on the stand is just a spare motor I got from someone, has a bottom end knock. My yellow Mustang coupe will be getting a 351W (not in the pics, at the machine shop right now). Putting a T-76 turbo on that. The 460 bare block on the stand in the middle of the garage will be going into the '79 Bronco. The 351W block on the floor next to the Firebird is a 94+ roller block, another spare, not sure what I'm doing with that yet.

I don't know. It was just the biggest, baddest shop I could find doing a quick Google search so I claimed it for myself.

You guys all have some great looking workshops. I would give anything to have something where I can pull in a vehicle and do some work. I have a nice shed with tools etc, but wow!!! These are nice!

Line-X on a larger scale.

Yes, and I'll make you a special deal on my new 6,000 psi mix since you're from Texas.

I now have a new theory: You start with no garage, and wish you had one to store things in, and work in. You build a small garage, thinking it will be enough, because anything is better than nothing. You quickly fill it with tools and junk, and resort to working in the driveway. You then decide to use your father's 30x40 garage, but find its full of his tools and junk, and you end up working in the driveway again. So then you decide to buy your own shop, 40x54, thinking it will have room for tools, junk, a couple projects, and still be able to repair your vehicle when necessary. But with the tools, more junk than you ever had before, and one project that there isn't room to work on, you still resort to wrenching in the driveway.

Yup, thats my story. My current shop is a 40x54 building, that came attached to a 30x40 building that we remodelled into a home. The shop has heat and parts of it even have central A/C. One door is 10x10' to handle larger vehicles, the other is only 8' and is mostly for small vehicles and equipment access. Its currently for sale, and once its sold, I'll be building a new large shop at our new house. It might not be 40x54, (although I'd really like a steel 40x60 shop), but more likely 30x40. Pic of the side of the shop:

Moral of the story: Build a shop at least twice as large as you think you need. You WILL fill it up eventually, this way it will just take longer.

Jim

I've got a 50x100 foot finished pole barn. With 2-14 ft high garage doors,4 inches of packed limestone topped off with 6 inches of reinforced concrete. We just finished all the electrical and are starting on the plumbing soon. Right now it has 4 antique tractors parked in it, but it's big enough for a semi. by the end of the year i hope to have a work area set up inside with aa the nessecities of a shop. I'll try to get a pic up of it as soon as i get my camera back.

Please do get the Pics up, I'd like to see 10,000 sq. ft. under roof.
Sounds quite nice.
Also, very Keen observation by NHDiesel. By your account I should be thinking in the range of 60X240. Your shops are awesome, I must admit I'm a bit jealous.
I hope a 30X36 or so will suffice.

You might want to redo that math on the 50X100=10,000. That is a nice size even at only 5,000 sq ft. I too am looking at about 30 x 36. But I keep thinking bigger all the time. I need to build it soon even if it is too small. I'm tired of working in my attached 2 car garage (24 x 24). When I build I will have a loft over at least part of it. I am envious of the ones in here. I really like the looks of PsRumours.
Hey PJ is that one of those kit builts, that I always see in Menards, etc.?
Oh well, probably in a couple more years when my 2 oldest are out of college.
