Shooting at tanks???????

Typical bureaucratic response. Make the area that they already can't control larger. How about just letting the tanks shoot back? Problem solved.

They shoot at airplanes also.

Some of those shoot at anything people have shot at light planes. I'v never been hit, but have seen the flash as they fire. One was caught by the cops when asked what was he thinking when he shot. His answer "it's only a plane."
I like the idea of the tanks shooting back.

Why not do what the border states do? Have the National Guard patrol and police the area. I'm joking actually, I'd say just let them shoot back.

I live in the affected area - the BLM (under Clinton) took away our shooting rights (zillions of gophers out there) over the 68k acre area because it scared the birds of prey away, and they couldn't find any food elsewhere; These same birds that were terrified of the mostly-.22 rounds going off had to fly over the Nat'l Guard ranges, including tank, artillery, and helicopter activity to GET to our old shooting area....; When repeatedly questioned about this obvious idiocy, they eventually changed the story to it being one of public safety.
Whatever.

.....now they've some edit story about people shooting at tanks in order to shut down the remainder of the desert for shooters -

I DON'T BELIEVE A WORD OF IT!!!

It's interesting to get a local view of things. I'm sure that someone has shot at a tank but it's probably exagerrated. No doubt that it's another land grab.
It always amazes me what they do as " solutions" to problems. Reminds me of Ford on the flamethrower thing. Lets not fix the real problem lets just make the truck shut off and cool down. I feel your pain my friend. I live in California about 12 minutes from the beach and enjoy walking my dogs on the beach. Well we have a bird called the snowy plover that mates on the beach from April to Sept. so they closed the beach to people. What kind of crazy crap is that? It gets better though. In my area we have tons of coyotes that walk on the beach eating snowy plover eggs. When people are on the beach the coyotes make themselves scarce. When people aren't on the beach I've seen up to 5 coyotes at a time wandering the beach eating tasty plover eggs. Seems to me that the people being on the beach helps the bird by keeping the coyotes back. But somehow the coyote is natures way and man is considered to no longer be a part of nature. Things that make you go Hmmmmmmmmmm

There is no way they are shooting at the National Guard tanks!

Think about how ludicrous that is for just one second. Our military has observation tools on ground equipment that can see for miles.

I find it impossible to believe that our military personnel would allow someone to shoot at them and not pursue them and detain them for local authorities.

Whoever wrote that article should find a new line of work, maybe as a Democratic Senators aid or something!
