Shipments across the pond

I got my parcels from Wildcat yesterday.
I think that Rod and Scotty could fill in lots of info about the problems on their side. But when DHL-Loomis-MayneLogistics finally got my parcel on the way it just took four days until it came to Austria.
This is rather funny since it had been opened, repacked, redeclared (to telecommunications equipment value 3000 Euro), re-redeclared to what it was in the beginning and visiting the Kosovo. I did really wonder that only 1 piece was missing. This is one of the nuts for the bracket that should hold the fuel pressure gauge. The other nut was there but in the wron parcel ??? Never mind, but the real fun started when the parcel arrived in Austria. It got to the Customs office. After doing all the paperwork necessary (thanks Rod for helping me out on this one!) DHL gave it to a local carrier with the order to get the customs duties cash on delivery. DHL stated that this would be 84Euro 15cents. So I waited for the parcels to arrive and was really amazed when 3 days late there was piece 2 of 2 on my doorstep. No notification, nothing, just the parcel standing in the rain. Some footprints on the box suggested that somebody had tried to play soccer with it, good luck with the brake rotors ;D . Another 2 days later the parcel 1 of 2 arrived. Cash on delivery, 107Euro 92 cents. Again, this parcel had a little sightseeing tour around Austria.
What really makes me angry is that you have to pay good cash for the service, and then the parcels are handled without any care. Signs saying "Top" or "Fragile" are completely ignored. Getting any reliable info on your shipments is virtually impossible. (The tracking system said "delivered" 5 days before I had my stuff)

I must say a big thank you to Wildcat for helping me out with the parts and the stuff, and for keeping up with my increasingly worse temper during this process. Since I do now have the tracking data on paper for my shipment I can state that Wildcat put the stuff on its way exactly as scheduled. And they also did pack it in a way that everything stood the abuse it encountered.

So a big thumbs up for Wildcat, and a "you are number one finger sign" for the Austrian reps that did the final delivery.

Glad you got your stuff! Over here, writing the words Fragile or This Side Up tells the delivery guy to drop it as hard as he can...upside down. And never...ever...write on an envelope Photos - Do Not Bend :

Re:Shipments across the pond

I ordered a pair of KYB shocks for my truck from a Canadian outfit last spring. The box had been opened and repacked somewhere along the way. It no longer contained KYB shocks. It did contain - some of you may have guessed it already -- six boxes of KY jelly tubes.

When I finally got my KYB shocks, I did use KY jelly to slide the lower shock mount bolt through the lower eye ring. Just seemed like something to do.

Honest, not kidding. ;D
