Seating rings

Guys, I've got a question for you. I just had my top end done on my Harley and it looks like the rings on the rear cylinder are seating a little slow. I know with forged pistons the warm-up in important but this thing is a little too smoky. I'm not killing mosquitoes, yet. I ran it back by the dealer that did the work today just to let them look at it. They're not concerned as of yet. Do any of you have any thoughts on how to get the rings squared away in a timely manner? Thanks, Rick

Not sure on a Harley, but if is a aircooled engine like what is in a plane to seat the rings after top or OH, run streight oil, no additives and WOT as much as you can. The pressure forces the rings against the wall and seat them. If they don't seat have to rehone the cylinder. That is as much as I know about it. Good luck.

The mechanic that built it said run it like you stole it. It's still early, only about 75 miles since the build.
