Re:Retired

I think that makes it official "YOUR OLD" . But it sure do beat the alternative. ;D

Re:Retired

Congrats DW! I had an experience here with a wood pecker that had a fondness for pecking on my aluminum gutter outside my bedroom window at first light.

After he woke me up 6 days running, I got up at 4 am and donned the old tiger stripe BDU's put some camo paint on my face and waited in the bushes with the 12 ga for his arrival.

About an hour later that woodpecker died of laughter when he saw me wearing combat clothes that were obviously way too small for me trying with little success to hide in the bushes

Funny thing was on examining the bird his beak was all tore up split into several pieces. I guess he was trying to fix it on the metal gutter. I am certain he would have starved to death eventually.

Re:Retired

I've got one of those read headed, er ah, yeah you know what I mean working on the rafters here. That thing is as big as a chicken and sounds like someone driving 20 penny galvanized spiral nails when he goes to hammering. I know he is going after those big wood bores that look like bumble bees but he is doing more damage than the bees. There was splinters on the deck last night and I finally figured out what was causing it. It looked like someone took a wood chisel to the two by fours.
(now loading up the old Rossi double twenty to make me some mince meat)
