What is it specificly? I just acquired alot of my grandpa's old Jim Beam collection. Some of it kept nice, in the more traditional style of bottle and seal. Some of the more ornamental bottles have gone downhill. I doubt the collectors market is doing so well right now.

Yeah, my dad always reminds me of all the Crown Royal I'll be inheriting. He only drinks gin anymore and has about 50-60 bottles whiled away from over the years. He still has the bottle his dad gave him when he graduated Med School in '59. Still unopened and still a beautiful deep brown color. Darker than the present day stuff.
It can wait though, I like having dad around!

That reminded me, I have a pint bottle in original box from prohibition. Says on it for medicinal purposes only. Was wondering if its worth anything.

My Family hails from Muhlenberg County Kentucky, my Great Grand Father served 10 years for shooting a revenuer but before that he bootlegged bottles up to Evansville Indiana in bottles marked MEDICANAL USE ONLY.

By the way the still is still in operation 5 gens later...

LOL, Yep, wait a looong time.

I can tell you this though, perhaps it would be wise to toast the old man with that bottle of 59. Dad and I were going to break the seal of his bottle of 64 in 2002, when it would have been 50 years old ( aged for 12 years, so vintage 1952 ) and he didn't make it, so I was obliged to drink it alone. Would have been much more fun to drink it together rather than having to toast.

And yes, it is wonderfully smooth, much better than simple Crown.
