so the BD PP DL erased the ECM in my truck, (discussed in another thread) and now i wanted to plug it into my USB on my PC and log onto www.bullydog.com and see if they had some downloads/reflashes/upgrades/sanity checks for them.

see if maybe it could tell me my DL is bad, unhappy, or has bad karma.

wow, i can't even find the Crazy Larry update, or anything to download, for that matter. i thought they had some stuff on there, was purpose of hte USB port?

anyways, it says " Recovery Mode" "your vehicle is erased....." and goes on to list the VIN of my erased ECM.

So, is it locked up? or is this normal, since the USB is powering it up (did you know the screen lights up?) but not providing ECM signals, so the DL thinks it needs recovered?

is there a super secret handshake to reset the BDDL?
like holding 2 buttons for 10 seconds or something?

i already took it apart (submarine sailor ...always look inside, see if the smoke came out of an important looking part)

and there are no buttons (or much of anything) on the PCB to reset it.

how friendly is BD to sending in used units for re-furb & reflash, how $$?

 

Sorry to hear about your trouble. I had a problem with mine when I went to put back in my stock program in my 03. It wouldn't let me do it!!! I called up the tech support and he walked me through it and it worked. I'd try to call up the tech support number. They were very helpful. Too bad it was a long distance call....
