My brother rolled out to college over a thousand miles away when he was 17 (I was 11) I used to think to myself,...Man, he's crazy!
I had the good fortune to buy my first house at age 19 and never looked back. Nice to visit for dinner, birthdays and such, but no extended stays for me!
my Mom is a "Paula Deen" type cook.
she's famous for the jellies/jam/pies she makes, she a MAJOR contributor to the all the American Cancer Society fund raisers & stuff.
she can flat out COOK.
i got hurt.
"distended" i think is the word when the peices of turkey makes dents in ya belly from inside out. WHEW.
she makes a "sweet potato sonker"
it's a layer of bread dough (pie crust thin)
cinnamon & brown sugar
layer of thin sliced (thick as baloney) sweet potato.
repeat until ~2.5 inches thick.
bake well, fill with canned milk/cream to keep moist.
make fat people yell WOOOOO HOOOOO
i had it for supper, snack, breakfast, lunch, desert, and afternoon delite.
it's GOOD!
